FFR Type 65 Coupe
I am in love with this kit car made by Factory Five racing. It is modeled after the 6 65 Daytona Coupes made in that year.
http://www.factoryfive.com/coupehome.html What do you think? What engine would you put in it? |
Almost 5 years for a reply, but I might as well post here, rather than start a new thread.
I, too, would love such a car. It's been a few years since Factory Five and the Type 65 was discussed here. From what I've researched, I think they've made some big improvements since 2007. But I've never seen one in person. Anyone have any new info/opinions? |
Style wise, its a poor homage to the original. It is just too kit car in looks. BUT for bang/buck basis, you can have a lot of fun. Resale is not as good as the roadsters. Why?
various reasons the coupe will cook the interior compartment (unless you really insulate it) < just like the real one btw the looks are not right and enthusiasts know it the roadster has a lot more demand So as a semi throw away of your money you could do worse (Lazer 917 >? :D ) |
Coupes take alot more work to get right. If you really want one buy a Superfornace Coupe or what used to be and is now build by Shelby America. You will pay a premium but it has all the creature comforts. I have a few buddies that have the FFR version. They are great cars but as with all they have there issues. There are hot as hell. Even with AC. Most guys run 302, 351, or a 351 based stroker. They are alot more drivable then another car guys fall in love with like say the GT40. That's another great car and driving nightmare.
