Ashley force = incompetent

Ashley Force does not belong in a funny car.
She has crossed the line and almost taken out a competitor, she just put it into the wall because she can't pedal the car, she has made almost every mistake a driver can make.
If they leave her in that car she will either kill herself or someone else.
I'm sick of her getting all the press coverage when she is the worst driver out there. I wouldn't let her drive my pick up.

It certainly looked like she hit the gas with the car pointed at the wall. Then she hit it 2 more times after she hit the wall. She's over her head.

Can you say "Junior Dragster"?

Moderators.: I have to ask; Why is this guy still on this board?

Porsche-O-Phile 07-22-2007 09:54 PM

I'd hit that like Barry Bonds.

I thought it was funny.

Let it all hang out in OT!!

John Force. Great driver, Has a GREAT crew chief! Lots of wins/titles in the sport. Articulate when the cameras are rolling (taught everyone else how to name all sixty car sponsors in a 30 second interview). Loved by fans and the media. Gets reality TV show. An asset to the sport!

Three daughters (no sons). Have to wonder how much pressure he put on them (daughters) to keep the "magic" alive? Ashley stepped up, but jury is still out on the end game. Hope she survives the trials.

sammyg2 07-23-2007 06:18 AM

I've met her, all I can say is that either that picture had some creative "filtering" or whoever air-brushed it deserves a place with michelangelo and Piccaso.
She is attractive but not at all like that picture.
When are the promoters and media going to realize that they can't shove dannica and ashley at us and expect us to buy into the hype like sheep? some of us like motorsports as a sport, not a monster truck rally.

I've rooted for John Force for as long as I can remember. He's always been one of my favorite drivers. He was hurt badly when Eric Medlin died, i'd hate to see him have to go through losing a daughter to a crash. He needs to get her butt out of that car.
The first time she lost control and crossed the center line and came very close to hitting gary densham (i think it was Gary) she was crying during the interview and said she didn't want to get back in the car. They should have listened to her.
Oh, and there's no crying in drag racing.

I suspect that 5000hp would be too much for virtually all of us to handle safely either. Top fuel drivers dont get enough credit for their skills and courage IMO.

She's a pretty good looking down home girl in the picture.

I've always liked John Force but just wish he would talk a little slower, think he spends too much time near the nitro methane pumps.

SanDiegoDon 07-23-2007 09:31 AM

Most guys running funny cars had years working their way up in different classes. That's why they're good, years of experience. She went straight up with no experience, recipe for disaster. She needs to start in a class she can handle, etc.

John Force, the best.

Mule 07-23-2007 02:05 PM

She raced 5 second A/Fuel dragsters for a couple of years. I think an 8000 to 9000 hp funny car is a little bit tougher though.

Typical A$$ hole liberal, always wanted to keep people they don't agree with :Special Salute:

Why don't you stay in canada and on french boards!! :Special Salute:

I'ver been here a lot longer than you, so if you don't like me, you leave :Special Salute:

While i've never driven a dragster or funny car, I've heard that funny cars are much, much harder and require a great deal more driver input. Dragsters are closer to a point and shoot kind of thing under most conditions.

I've driven a blown gas flatbottom and a comp hydro at close to 150 mph in the 1/4, scared the you know what out of me. I'm too old for that now.

herr_oberst 07-23-2007 03:16 PM

I'm going to give Ash the benefit of the doubt for now, because the way I see it, she has the 'nads to try and drive out of her tank slappers. I'm thinking a lot of drivers are reaching for the shutoff when the bronco bucks.

She doesn't have a lot of experience pedaling 7000 horsepower when the tires rattle, but she really wanted that car to go forward; I'm thinking that any noobie FC pilot could have had that accident.

I know that I wouldn't have the stones to get into that thing, especially after what happened to Eric Medlin. I have way too much imagination. Give her credit.

If someone in drag racing has to be given the hook it's Paul Page. I was sick of that nasally whine 20 years ago. He should get back to the competitive eating gig. Perfect fit.

chapo 07-23-2007 05:40 PM

She DID beat Ron Capps first, then was peddling it against Bernsein, who was peddling his as well. both very worthy competitors who know what they are doing, even if the big B is over the hill. Don't worry about racerbvd, his line of thinking is right up there with fastpat.

Mule 07-23-2007 07:20 PM

She drilled Capps (the best out there) on the tree & outran him with a 4.79.

What, after taking a bunch of anabolic steroids for years then lying about it?

Dottore, just because he is blunt about his opinions does not make him wrong. At least he is amusing.
