Ever use your 911 in a wedding? I did in mine!!!

Well...after putting it off until I was 32...the big day came on June 10. I got hitched! I was going to use one of my longhoods for the getaway car, but I thought twice about shaving cream on vintage paint.

So I used my trusty '89 Carrera coupe...the car we had our first date in two years ago. The car she can drive like a banshee! I think the pics turned out nice. Anyone else use a 911 at their wedding? Or in a family member's?

BTW...the honeymoon in Fiji was GREAT! Thanks for all the suggestion in the other thread.

I did, but it was before digital cameras

It was 1990, perfect 1983 SC and perfect bride. I'll get a scanner someday

Great pics.

I did the opposite. Knowing paybacks from friends were in the planning stages, I rented a car from the airport that would just blend in the crowd in the church parking lot.

"Where's his car? Where's his car?"

Payback plans foiled! After the ceremony, we walked out to a non-descript Mustang convertable that had been sitting there the whole time. Off to the airport to catch a plane for our honeymoon. We just returned the car and flew away.

I did in mine too, in 2002.

Only two pictures we have are of us still in tux and dress crammed in there and one of us driving away. If I remember I will scan and add them next week.

76 911 by the way.

O I figured if I used it in the wedding then she could never make me get rid of the car. Its worked so far.

Not me, and not in a 911. But my parents used my dad's 1953 356 coupe when they got married in San Francisco in 1954. They drove the 356 to Yellowstone for the honeymoon.

We just went to Tahoe last week for their 53rd anniversary, and I asked my mom how the Yellowstone trip was. She said it was very comfortable. Except everywhere they stopped a crowd gathered around the car with everyone asking what it was.

Jay, those pics are beautiful! The white of the car blends in really well, so the car isn't taking the focus, as 911s tend to do. I only wish we had the 911 when I got married, but it came a few years later. Of course, we had a classic Rolls, so it wasn't too shabby!

Cool pics and memories, guys. I really liked having a white car for the ceremony for the reasons Christien said. Here's one that features the car more:

Spent 6 months finishing the restoration of my 38 Buick touring sedan to use at my wedding (the wife really wanted that car), then at T minus 2 days I broke one of the windshields during install.
Asked the wife if she wanted to rent a limo and go traditional, and she told me that "plan b" in her mind had been the 944, so that's what we used. This pic is of my lovely bride and my shifting hand as we make our escape
Sorry about the "proof" watermark, this is the only electronic copy to which I have access from this machine.
