Where to go on honeymoon

I know Ive been stuck at home all day posting threads. Well less than a month to go and still haven't made my mind up yet. I don't want to spend a whole lot but don't want to come off as cheap. I'm thinking less than 5k and no I'm not going to take my new bride to hedonism or anything along those lines. She wants a surprise so I'm looking for someplace with a lot of wow without all the $$. Vegas is out of the question too. Too much bad stuff there.

I wish I could help you, but I'll be taking my honeymoon in June and we still haven't figured out where we'll be going!

Congrats, tho.

LOL I'm going to be in that boat if don't think of something. I asked my sister who is friends with jennifer (thats how we met). Sis basically told me I was my own on this one. Seems she doesn't want the liability of making a bad suggestion.

What do you mean Cold? Beriut offers some really great deals on Hotels and is on the Sunny Mediterian...a real club Med with plenty of action and thrills for those with a budget in mind. let Hezzabola be your guide.

I would go to Europe. A little hint: Brussels is the cheapest city in Europe, and has plenty of things to do and see. Belgians are gormands- they live for good food and as such demand it from their restaurants. The best beer and the best chocolate come from Belgium. Unless you eat at the local McDonalds, you are sure to gain kilograms in this city. Flights in to this place are usually cheap since the airlines use yield-management programs to control their prices, and Brussels is just slightly off the typical beaten path= lower prices for you. Also, you can easily take a train to Paris (90 minutes and $50) or any city in Europe from the train station in the airport.

A plus: Since it is the seat of the European government, nearly everyone there speaks English. You'd have way more difficulty speaking English in some sections of Miami or Honolulu than you will in Brussels.

Well, let me know what you do. It seems that I need some ideas.

Regarding Beirut, my brother's wife is from there and he's visited Lebanon several times. I hear it's a beautiful place to go and would love to go there sometime. Maybe after things stabilize a bit, tho...

I'm getting married in Vegas in Oct. and will probably drive to LA, spend a few days there and then up the coast to Napa and Sonoma for a few days, fly home from SF or San Jose.

FWIW, I think Brussels is the most overrated place in Europe. So many better places nearby.

Well does Beriut meet your criteria as listed above. You sure don't have to worry about hedonism in a Muslim country and there is a lot of WOW happening in country all to be had at bargain prices.

i'm from Belgium and i would recommend against Brussels, at least not for a dedicated honeymoon

you'de be better off in Bruge ,

and venture out from there to visit some places like Ghent(medieval fortress town,

with dungeon and torture chamber , very romantic

Ypres(ww1, my home town i'm moving back there in august)

Westvleteren abbey (home of Abt 12 , has ranked #1 beer on many beer websites)

could venture over the border into North of France, Dunkirk,
Eperleques Blockhouse(massive V1-V2 bunkers, walls as thick as 18 feet, a Tall boy bomb could not penetrate the roof

't would not be a typical honeymoon in the sense of "Venice", "hawai" or "paris"

but i'm sure it would be an interesting trip, sightseeing, bit of WW1 history, bit of Middle Age stuff, a variety of things really

Brussels is a bit boring imho...

Now here is the payoff

And the best part of a Honeymoon in Beriut is that it will probably be the last quiet interlude after your married. You might say it will prepare you for what is coming after being married.

Maybe but Im marrying a good corn-fed Midwest girl. Not a west coast high maintenance chic. Although she did latch on to my new Motorola Q.

My Wife and I just got back from Estes Park, CO, which is just outside the rocky mountain national park. We both had a blast all week and didn't spend anywhere near your limit. If you're at all outdoor people it's a good idea to check out. Just $20 to get into the park all week allows you some spectacular views and hikes, while there's great food in town and plenty of activities to do spur of the moment as well.

Edit: This was our honeymoon as well.

LOL If theres gonna be any backing out it would be on her part. Ive found the girl of my dreams. Took jennifer to meet dad (lives in Florida). Hes never complimented me on anything not my cars or in sports even when I landed a good job. But he told that jennifer is a beautiful woman. I'm content.
