Help with trip
I am about to leave L.A. and drive to Vancouver then Calgary.
I'll be on the I-5 most of the way. Car's been serviced by TRE so I'm not expecting any trouble. But just in case, I would be grateful for the names and numbers of good Porsche shops along the way, especially in or near out of the way places . . . I know about John Walker in Seattle. Many thanks! Craig

pwd72s lives close to I-5, just a few miles east of Corvallis Or, if you need a place to wrench on your 911. He probably has every tool availabe also. He's good to know about.
You won't be the first to stop there.. lol ![]()

Craig,
Since you're coming to this"out of the way place", called Calgary :-) We have a shop here that just rebuilt my 2.7 and they do very good work. It's called ALPINE AUTOWERKS, address: 4509 -1st Street S.E. Phone (403) 287-9114. It's a small shop, the owner's name is Marc Boulanger. E-mail address: marc@alpineautowerks.com If you have time give me a call when you're here, we can have a coffee with my friend who owns an MGB GT... My name is Bert Leemburg (403) 240-4856 1958 Porsche 356 A Cabriolet 1974 Porsche Carrera Audi Quatro

The Fairmount Hotel may have a trick jazz group playing at the bar. I stayed at either the Baniff or Calgary Fairmount. It's a real class act. Actually the ambiance of the Canadian Rockies is intense. You can't go wrong checking it out.

Good shop in Vancouver is called: "Targa Performance Ltd".
1397 Welch Street North Vancouver 604-984-4338 I echo the recommendation for Alpine Autowerks in Calgary. Marc and Peter are great guys to work with.

Craig,
I-5 is pretty boring. A run up the coast or up the Sierras would be far more entertaining! But if you are going to take I-5, we live in Medford, OR. I certainly would not consider us Ace Mechanics, but we do manage to keep our cars running with startling regularity!~ ![]() What we can't fix ourselves, we know who is able and where to buy parts. I'll PM you our cell #. angela and steve

Many thanks to all of you who replied to my post.
I feel much better about making the long haul now. I am looking forward to Banff and the Rockies. I have taken the coast before in my MGB. It's much nicer but on this trip I need to get north quickly. Thanks again and will post some pics.
