Anyone watch ALMS? (spoilers)
First off, it was great to see the Porsches come in 1-2 again, especially when it looked like the Audis were going to pull it off. That Roger Penske is a great race strategist.
I also really liked the Tomas Enge incident. Nothing like taking out one (or two) Ferraris with your own Ferrari. Porsche wins again in GT2, but unfortunately they can only seem to win when the Ferraris blow up/crash. Finally, can anyone else stand Danny Sullivan and his inane comments? The guy talks like he's had a lobotomy, and his television skills suck (he most definitely can't think on the spot during interviews). Maybe I just dislike him because he hates Porsches.

You are not alone regarding Danny Sullivan either. I think it has even been discussed here a couple times. |

I enjoyed the race and yes Roger Penske,Porsche are getting these Spyders figured out. I found it interesting that the Penske team can refuel faster than anyone else in the P2 class. Supposedly everyone is useing the same fueling rigs so Penske has figured out something. Not sure if you guys have heard but Enge was fired before the end of the race by the Ferrari team seems like they were fed up with his driving style. Listening to Danny Sullivan is like watching steel rust...........slow,boring and a waste of time

Sullivan is a drone but better than Derek Daly and his Irish accent...
Bobby Unser on ABC was the worst...

LEXINGTON, Ohio, July 21, 2007 – Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing has announced the immediate dismissal of driver Tomas Enge (a native of the Czech Republic now living in Monaco) following today’s Sports Car Challenge at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. In accordance with the two-time American Le Mans Series GT2 Driver Championship-winning team’s written policy on driver expectations and conduct, Enge was released approximately 45-minutes into the two hour and 45-minute event.
I know it had to do with his getting suspended for causing damage to another car while on probation for a previous incident, but how many drivers get fired in the middle of a race? They must have really been ticked off. |

Frankly I agreed with Sullivan that ALMS over-reacted with Enge at Mid-Ohio. He was in heavy traffic when he got into the back of Salo. He certainly pulled some bonehead moves at Lime Rock so I guess that's the reason; I think he took out 4 cars single-handed. I couldn't believe Salo's move though, driving into the side of Enge intentionally. Salo should be suspended for a few races for that. This ain't NASCAR, boys.

I agree, if Enge wasn’t on probation for the previous race, his little hit would have been called a race incident. This is why he only got a two minute penalty. Salo, on the other hand, wasn’t on probation and got a five minute penalty. A deliberate hit can’t be tolerated.
