Which Lincense Plate

I need to register the '74 911 for the first time.

In NC you are allowed to choose a personalized number for your plate...

Max 8 digits

I have a lot of ideas... which one would u go for?

RoninLB 07-27-2007 03:50 AM

probably w/one that confuses license plate automated optical character recognition software

w/a string of mixed DO0's

911michael 07-27-2007 04:08 AM

Have you been to the DMV website to verify that all of them are available?

yup, then out of frustration they'll just give you a warning. 'ha ha...' they will say, 'you got me there buddy. i'll just give you a warning since you are so darned clever and believe i am too stupid to decifer such a puzzle.'

No one seems to be able to tell a large case "i" to the number "1".

Just use your Pelican "user name" so we know who you are on the street or at a meet.

My plate says "kach22i" in large case letters.

911teo 07-27-2007 08:14 AM

I already used 911 teo for the one I crashed (twice)... was thinking of changing it...

I thought of that, Kach, but I do drive my 930 to work every so often...

CA DMV now explicitly forbids homoglyphs.

RoninLB 07-27-2007 08:53 AM

Homoglyph
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In typography, a homoglyph is one of two or more characters with shapes that are either identical, or cannot be differentiated by quick visual inspection. This designation is also applied to sequences of characters sharing these properties

That's very non-PC!

Haha! My thoughts exactly.

I like my plate. Probably not taken in your hood since it was available here.

Better than that would be" I4GOT" that way, if an officer is pursuing you, and he calls base for backup, and they ask him the plate number, he'll have to respond, "I forgot."

Yuck, yuck.

None. I'm not a fan of personalized licence plates. They make your car easy to remember and a target in some cases. Being anonymous is a good thing.

+1 Vote for the 'standard issue'.

You KNOW everyone laughs at the guys driving with the: REDVETT, MYHUMMR, AVET2NV,
MY911, AMIL8, FLUBYU...etc...etc. They are called Vanity Plates for a reason I.M.O.
