Insane Pricing! 72' Bronco roadside sale
The wifey and I drive past the local DQ and see a 1st gen bronco sitting in the parking lot for sale. She loves vintage 4x4 so we go take a look. I bet her that its $17k or more. She's not real car savvy so she argues.
8 out of 10 paint (Chips and a little wavy). 10 out of 10 interior. Sitting in some crap alum. rims w/ 33" nittos. Overall a decent 8 out of 10 truck. Anyway, we get up there and its $22,500 firm! I cannot believe these trucks have this much want. Your looking at a very nice 69' camero at that price (ridiculous classic auctions aside). |

Early model Broncos are gettin "Barret Jackson" prices. I looked at a few recently, all bare shells. One guy wanted $6000. no drive train whatsoever.. Prices are out of control.
A nieghbor up the street has one I think it's a '70. All redone. thing is incredible. I know someone offerd him close to 20 g's and he turned it down.

A 72-foot bronco? What was it, a stretch limo? That might explain the price...

Why yes, she was just shy of her 35th birthday. The most recent one just turned 32.

My Wife gets the "Sundance" catalog and they had a '69 Bronco that sold for $20k the first day the catalog came out. Here's the link: http://media.ford.com/newsroom/feature_display.cfm?release=25006
Personally, I'd spend the money on a well sorted FJ40 or 45 and still have money left over for upgrades.

Prices have not actually risen on these, they've been at this level for many years. At least for unmolested, rust-free southern trucks. An acquaintance of mine has bought/sold/restored about 50 of them, he had a competitor in SoCal who did more.
The price on the above described Bronco is unrealistic, unless the seller gets really lucky. His ace in the hole is the fact that there are never many around on the market, at least locally. I owned one about 10 years ago, they drive like absolute schit. They're pigs, but they look cool. And I'm definitely a Ford truck guy. FWIW, I also thought that I was opening a link to a double-wide trailer for sale w/ the name "Bronco" on it. Time for a grammar lesson, or something. |
