it took at least 2 quarts as the usual oil capacity is 4 and a gallon for the curb side recyclers usually does it. this time, a gallon and a half, and worse it looks like paint so the oil recyclers will prolly not take it thinking its hazmat stuff.

so i changed out the oil and ran it for 25 minutes and a few trips around the block. i idled it a solid 20 minutes with the oil fill open to let the moisture out and it seems to have cleared it up. radiator remains foo, and the oil is oil again with most all the water vapor cooked out. i will prolly do another oil change tomorrow as i dont want to send it to the buyer with fouled oil in it.

lesson learned, dont trust ANYONE and people for the most part suck. i knew that before pretty much, now its confirmed. i will be calling the guy that did this from my caller ID and ask him if he wants it for the 3K i wanted...SmileWavy

Wow, good catch on this one. I would have had to call the police or at very least get the plate off his car and report him. There are many potential victims out there. Bringing his wife is part of the scam and she probably knows it.

juanbenae 08-01-2007 06:43 PM

i have the guys cell number and email address. now if that email address, or email forwarded to someone in the know could get me an address i might be in business. and YES his wife was in up to her baby feeders w/o a doubt.

back to selling a car, anyone here interested???.......

Years ago I knew a hostess at a Datsun dealership (yes, Datsun - I did say years ago) that had her personal car - a TransAm Smokey and the Bandit edition - up for sale.
Two guys show up at the dealership to test drive it. She's at work, and being a trusting soul, hands over the keys to them. They never came back - and her insurance wouldn't cover the "theft", as she handed them the keys - claimed it was her negligence.

post the guys number on the internet......we'll make him change the freaking thing.....
what a moron.......i would've beat his ass.....although it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.....

Gogar 08-01-2007 08:25 PM

did you try reverse phone lookup?

juanbenae 08-01-2007 08:44 PM

yeah rix i was kidding.....

and on kicking his ace, then i am arrested by a police officer that works for the same public agency i am currently under a 6 month new hire probation with. not worth it. actually i was not convinced of it for sure until he was actually gone and i noodled it through more. the longer i thought about it the more pissed i got and was glad he was gone from the house (see 1st statement in this paragraph).

i know a couple undesirables that live for the shat i have in mind in the very near future. it has to do with posting a too good to be true craigslist add and wait for his email to reappear in my inbox. then the undesirables actually meet with him as i watch from a discrete location and get my pound of flesh.

i have considered posting a "seller beware" add on CL, but i wanna lay low until the civic sells. why smear it where i am trying to sell it, and really how many sellers really paruzz the adds? i have a plan like MLK had a dream.

knowing undesirables rules

Glad to hear you caught it!

I've never heard of such a scam before, although I can't say it suprises me...

He may have bigger and meaner undesireables.

Just forget it...

We'll all talk it over with you at the track ;)

From your first post, upon opening the hood with him you pulled the dipstick to discover the froth. Did he ask you to pull the stick? I would figure that if this was his scam, he would have to make this issue known by requesting this.

juanbenae 08-02-2007 10:57 AM

he did not, but i believe he would have gotten to that had i not pulled it.

rammstein 08-02-2007 11:08 AM

I'd be VERY apt to think you were wrong, were it not for the fact that the water had to come from somewhere. The radiator was at its previous level. Is there any other conceivable way that water could get in? Freak rain storm with temporary metal-penetrating powers? Aliens? Jesus?

Too bad there's not much recourse here, at least within the confines of the law.

sammyg2 08-02-2007 11:38 AM

I'd love to have this guy's phone number.
