Foreign News - sources
Do any of you read, listen or view foreign news? I'm tired of American news broadcasts with their myopic viewpoints, and the radio stations and newspapers/periodicals aren't much more inspiring. I can get BBC online, but sadly, they've become victims of slanted journalism as well.
Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thanks. ![]()

I've heard there's a great Greek news source that can be read in English. I'll see if I can find out what it is and will post a link.

The Economist...has it's moments in both liberal and conservative camps. I used to subscribe, but now I only buy it when I travel. Worth a look, great for long airplane rides.

The economist is good read, plus real global coverage.
For US news summaries, I get "The Week" which summarizes content from a variety of sources, shows different editorial viewpoints. Quick read.

+100 The BEST source in news magazines ...bar none. But you have to consider how low the bar has been set.

I love the Economist, but it's pretty expensive. Actually, I think most of the links on the Drudge Report link to British and Australian newspapers. I read some German papers once in a while just to keep the chops up. And I read China Daily and Xinhua occasionally too. Strangely, their English editions print stuff their Chinese editions can't get away with.

I was suprised when I found the CS Monitor. I always avoided it, due to the name, but then I accidentally read a few articles about what was going on in the Sandbox when the second round of stuff over there started up. It was very open, honest, and unbiased. Did a little searching around, apparently the CSM has a good reputation for international (and national, etc) information/news/reporting amongst those who work for various Three Letter Agencies... http://www.csmonitor.com/world

I've subscribed to The Economist for 15+ years, but I must hold my nose when I read it these days -- it has really gone down hill in the past few years. Nearly every article now includes a mention of global warming, for example.

Great suggestions - I particularly like the UK papers for their language skills.
The CBC, as I recall around 9/11, actually showed people jumping from the Twin Towers and splattering on the ground. ![]() Any fans of the National Review? I liked it when Buckley was more involved.
