Anyone using Netflix or a similar service?

The video stores around here suck for anything other than the latest movies that are out. I just checked out the Netflix site, but was curious if anyone else is using Netflix or something similar and can give me the pros and cons.

using netflix - over all very happy

just dropped the price of the 3 disk plan
If you are deligent about watching the movies that come in you could watch a new flix every night as their turn around time is very good

If you are not deligent you sit on a movie for ever cause it "doesn't" cost you. We have a movie at home that has been sitting there for about 2 weeks

I've been pretty happy with Blockbuster's online service for the past year. It's not perfect, but it's easy and beats the hell out of going to the video store.

One con is that they don't always ship the top item on your list (queue) of movies that you've selected. They will reach down to your 2nd or 3rd or even the 4th movie on your queue from time to time. One time, I waited a few weeks to finally get the top item on my queue sent. One the positive side, Blockbuster lets you trade in your mail order movie at the Blockbuster store; you can change a movie to something else if you want to. That has come in handy once or twice for me when I've changed my mind about what I want to see.

Overall, I say it's a good service if you like to see movies on a regualr basis. Start out with the low end package (one movie at a time) and see if that fits your needs. I would never consider a two- or three-at-a-time package as I am not willing to invest the amount of couch time needed to see that many movies.

I hope this help you in your decision making process.

Netflix good.
Been using it for about two years.
Amazingly quick shipping.

I've been a member of Netflix for about a year and enjoy the service. No complaints and they have every movie I can think of...

Like Frogger said, the great thing about the Blockbuster plan is that you can return your movies at the store and get a new one free. That comes in really handy when you want instant gratification.

Netflix for about a year now - very fast!

Netflix for 2 years now, I have the 3 DVD plan. I drop my DVD in the mailbox on Wednesday and I have a new one on Friday, like clockwork. Great service.

Thanks for all the good info. Looks like Netflix is the way to go!

I have looked at Netfix and they have a crappy search engine. Looks like they want to feed you the same old crap.

so what do you do when you're in the mood for horror etc, and you get 3 comedies in the mail?

If you have a Blockbuster account, you take one of your comedies to the neighborhood store and exchange it for a horror flick, chick flick, pr0n flick or what ever you happen to be in the mood for.

We've used NetFlix in the past. Currently we use BlockBuster on-line. No complaints...

ya but this defeats the whole purpose of me sitting on my a$$ and not going anywhere

I agree with the sitting on my azz statement. I have no need to ever walk into a BB. The whole point of home delivered movies is to avoid the stores. I have been using Netflix off and on for 5-6 years. Fine service.

How many movies do you guys watch a week? I'm interested in a service like this but I only have time for a movie about once a week. would it be worth it for me?

Netflix offers different packages, the least expensive one may be just right for you. I copy all my movies and watch them whenever I want. When I get too many laying around unwatched, I suspend my account for a few months. Actually I need to do that today. It usually takes me about 2-3 nights to make it thru a movie. I fall asleep about 45 minutes into them, much quicker if they suck.
