Yep! And since we have cats? Well, if it had shown with one of our pets in it's jaws? I'd have shot, shoveled, then shut up. People LOVE their pets...something we should all be aware of....

Thats a bit out of left field there buddy- this is supposed to be a rare happy thread from me.

So, a greyhound's life is somehow more valuable than the life of a loved cat's?

rammstein 08-13-2007 06:52 PM

The ONLY person here who said ANYTHING about ANY CATS BEING KILLED was YOU. I was talking about getting a dog. In fact, when somebody mentioned the leash issue, I was first to confirm the importance of keeping my animal under control at all times. Then you, Sergeant Asshat, decided to come on here and talk about how if my dog showed up with your cat in its mouth you would shoot it and bury it. You are a classless piece of garbage, I held back with my first response hoping you would realize that I didn't appreciate the direction you brought this thread, with no provokation I might add, and your response is that "so you are saying that a greyhound's life is more important that a beloved cat".

Tell you what- unless you can point out anyplace where I said ANYTHING even REMOTELY along those lines, get off of this thread.

Bottom line...greyhound breeding history is to chase down and kill small animals. If you don't realize this part of grey ownerhip? You MAY have a problem...

Really, this has nothing to do with what you may or have not posted. It's about understanding the breed of dog,

rammstein 08-13-2007 07:18 PM

OK- when did show a lack of understanding of the prey drive? Did I not mention it?

Look, I feel bad for getting upset, and I'm gonna let it go now. I just didn't like how you somehow read this and came up with a response like you did.

You just can't beat the feeling of finding an "unwanted" dog and taking her in. I found Sammie in December '93 and she's been with me ever since:

Couldn't agree more. I have a friend who has had two Greyhound rescues and they were great dogs for him. Of course, that is saving a life too. But I would advise against getting an un-housebroken dog for a FIRST dog and if living in an apartment. Sammy's right, get yourself a fine little mutt dog. It'll love you forever.

Best of luck in your search. I hope you find as good a dog friend as I have been lucky to have over the years.
