Mothers Nitpicking
One of Mothers age old tactics is to "Nitpick" about form over substance to avoid her feelings of intellectual inadequacy. I just tell her that no matter what she says the fact never changes that she comes off as a silly old harridan of a School Marm with a stick shoved up her a$$.

So many grammatical/punctuation errors...
![]() It should read: One of Mother's age-old tactics is to "nitpick" about form over substance, perhaps to avoid her feelings of intellectual inadequacy. I just tell her that no matter what she says the fact never changes that she will come off as a silly old harridan of a school marm with a stick shoved up her a$$.

There is no "perhaps" about it... she does have feelings of inadequacy intellectually. Using the word "perhaps" denotes uncertainty on the part of the writer.

I believe there should be a comma after "no matter what she says".

The borscht is hiding behind the preposition. I guess if you didn't notice the misplaced apostrophe and the capitalized "G" on guys, which is an important word but not a proper noun, you could mistake the deliberately misspelled "beet" as an error. I thought three glaring errors in a single simple sentence would be enough to make the joke obvious.

That's good wordplay. Beet punch = borscht is funny. Why the frown?
Poking fun at Mother and Tabs' stream of consciousness posts is all in good fun. Join the give and take and you'll soon learn that taking a good one is almost as much fun as trying to teach Tabs when the "s" is possessive and when it's just plural. Tabs', let this be a lesson to you and Mother: When you want a debate on this board we will shout you down with Nitpicking of Style over Substance. And don't even start in on the issue of Mother. She's not going to hand over world domination to you until she's done with it or you write a 500 word essay on the proper use of "it's" versus "its".
