Guns are best left to the state, and trained, licensed professionals that have a clear need for such obviously dangerous items. The people have no need for firearms. The state, through its official agencies, provides all the "protection" any citizen could possibly need. We can buy all of our food, in our modern society, in the supermarket, rendering hunting no more than a savage, ruthless, needless bloodsport. You all need to get with the times and give up this horrible throw back to our dark and distant past. This is the 21st century, gentlemen, you can no longer justify your stubborn clinging to some romanticized past; there is no longer any need for private citizens to own these things. Send them all to me and, I assure you, they will be properly and safely disposed of. You have my word.

Do you realize how many kids drown in swimming pools every year
Quote:
DEATHS AND INJURIES
In 1996, nearly 1,000 children ages 14 and under drowned. Children ages 4 and under accounted for nearly half of these deaths.
Each year, an estimated 5,000 children ages 14 and under are hospitalized due to near-drownings.
Near-drownings have high case fatality rates. Fifteen percent of children admitted for near-drowning die in the hospital. As many as 20 percent of near-drowning survivors suffer severe, permanent neurological disability.
For every child who drowns, an additional four are hospitalized for near-drowning; and for every hospital admission, approximately four children are treated in hospital emergency rooms.
A swimming pool is 14 times more likely than a motor vehicle to be involved in the death of a child age 4 and under.

, and you clearly do not understand the 2nd Amendment, if it was as clear cut anti ownership, we would have been dissarmed years ago. No, I don't need a gun, but I want guns, just like I don't need a Porsche that goes over 150mph, but I wanted one, so like my guns I own one. You don't need an old Porsche, do you realize this is the 21st century and how many children are killed by cars every year, and how many die because of power windows:eek:
Quote:
The Danger: Power Windows
Since 1990, at least 40 children have been killed by power windows. The windows can exert 30 to 80 pounds of force, while it takes just 22 pounds of force to suffocate an infant.

Environmental hazards are killing four million children every year. The World Health Organisation claims that problems such as polluted air and water are causing poisonings, acute respiratory infections, diarrhoea diseases and malaria due to thriving mosquito populations in dirty water.

Just because you aren't responable enough to own guns doesn't mean those of us who chose too shouldn't. I don't feel the need to own my guns, I just want them. Youi should give up your porsche sence you really don't need an old car like that, I'll give it a good home (72 is one of my favorite years) and I won't put a gun rack in it:D Even though I can, I don't carry any weapons on me. Now, if someone breaks into your home, since you may have an anti gun decal on one of your cars, the beat your ass and rape your wife in front of you while you wait for help, if the break into my home BANG game over, they are carried out. You guy goes on to rob & rape again, mine is worm food.
