Wow, some interesting patterns so far. Looks like a high percentage of jeeps on the worst list, lots of chrysler products rated as worst, and ford and VW owners either love em or hate em.

I expected to see more vegas on the worst list, maybe most of us were either smart enough or lucky enough not to own one ;)

Based on reliability I will have to say one of the first cars I ever owned: a bright yellow 924 '76. Despite all thatīs been said about the 924, not least the first models, mine never let me down. It was my daily driver. Winter or summer it always started and besides routine service I didnīt have to fix anything during the three years and 30k miles I owned it. I still see it in the streets occasionally. Still going strong after 30+ years. And it was fun to drive too. Not as fun as the 911 but still. And cute as hell...there I said it. Picked up more skirts in that than any other car since then. Of course, that may depend on the vintage of the driver.. :D

Worst- '98 Dodge Dakota V6 4x4, 8 problems from new till I traded for a used '99 Tacoma 4x4 40k later. (the Tacoma is troublefree after 80,000 miles and may someday make my best list...time will tell)

Best- '92 BMW 325i that I bought w/ 140k and now has 280,000 miles with no major problems, original clutch, cold AC, still drives perfect, uses one quart of oil in 7500 miles.

2nd best is a tie between my '77 924 (I still own it and my daughters both learned to drive with it....mileage unknown but has to be at least 250k...original clutch and engine internals untouched) and an '83 Dastsun pickup I had in college that I absolutely beat the hell out of and did no maintenance on.

Best: 2005 Audi S4 Cabriolet. Amazing all around vehicle.

Worst: 1977 Dodge Aspen wagon. I bought it for $250 in 1984, and that was too much. No power, bad on gas, handled like a nightmare. On the plus side, the slant 6 motor never failed me.

Worst for me was a 1980 TR-7 - I pushed that car more than any other.

Best would have to be a split between my 1982 Chevy Monte Carlo and my 1986 nissan 240sx. The chevy I bought, drove 25000 miles and sold it for more than I bought it for. The nissan was uber reliable - even when I abused it. Nothing but brakes and tires and oil changes for the first 125,000 miles

I agree with Jeremy. I had a 240SX also. Went 200K miles and you could still stand a quarter on edge on the hood when it was running. It was still running great when the 5th owner after me junked it as it was rusted so bad. So much for being a Florida car.

Worst - it's a tie between a 1979 Ford Cortina and a 1980 BMW 320 which were both cheap and nasty when I bought them (used) and were nothing but trouble from day one. Got rid of both of them within 6 months.

Best - in terms of reliability my 1999 Subaru WRX - nothing ever went wrong with it. In terms of fun my Lancia Delta HF Turbo - so much fun I can overlook the time the A/C caught fire. Obviously Porsches are excluded from the Best list.

Best, 1990 mercedes 300SEL.
Worst, I had a chevy blazer than broke down constantly. Woke up one morning to find someone had stolen it from in front of my house. Looked down the street and there it was. It broke down on the theives!

Best: 86 RX7 - One of the best bang for the bucks cars IMO. Bought it used out of college. Car was cheap, fast and handled great.

Worst: Without a doubt, 77 Dodge Colt. I'd list all the bad but it's easier to just say there was nothing good.

Best? My current '02 Dodge Ram Quadcab 4x4. Black, factory polished 20's and a shell. It has the little 4.7 (which I hated when I got it, but now?...) It has towed my boats, seen negative 8 degrees farenheit and plus an indicated 134 degrees farenheit in Laughlin, NV (It was really ONLY 118!) in one year and never missed a beat. Has towed my 911 and my 951. Has pulled a stuck 4x4 van WITH a trailered 20 ft boat attached out of the mud. Never missed a beat. Done everything I've asked of it.

Worst? My actually beloved '74 Vega GT. My first new car.. Bought it when I was 17. $67.70 a month for 36 months! I kept IMMACULATE care of that little car. I waxed it EVERY time I washed it. I doted on it....and it STILL rusted. Loved driving it, but honestly? It was a pretty bad car.

:DHilarious. You should have left the key in it, and put a blinking red light on it that said, "Steal me....please" ...oh and left a AAA card on the front seat!
