Forum suggestion: minimum word length for search
I know this issue was mentioned before, and Wayne said it is to keep the size of search index down. However, prior to the upgrade, even with the minimum 3 character length rule one could use shorter words when combined with other longer terms like "SC BRAKES". Now that doesn't work anymore. One could use a wildcard (SC* BRAKES) but then it returns a bunch of unrelated threads that include words like "scan" or "screws" and so on. There are quite a few other frequently used terms that are unsearchable now.
Is it possible to setup the new version to allow short words in multiple keyword searches too, please? Or is that the same as simply allowing 2 letter word searches outright in terms of search index?

Too big to fail

How about "SC" Brakes - I haven't tried that on this one, but using quotes to pad the word length has worked for me on other forums.

Nope, it doesn't seem to work on this board.

Coincidentally, I also found that feature troubling today. I was trying to do a little research on an engine size and the feature would not accept 3.8 or 4.0 or any other displacement for that matter...
So I "phoned a friend." ![]() angela
