I disagree. It's partly a matter of simple optics. Glance out to a freeway full of cars and if there's a Speed Yellow Porsche in the left lane, guess what car you will notice.

It seems since there are so many silver colored cars that silver would be the best non-associated ticketed car. Even though more tickets would be given to silver cars, it's only because there are so many of them. Again, it's all about blending in with the majority than anything else; your driving habbits, your car, your car color, in that order.
-Driving the speed limit vs. speeding -Owning a Honda vs. a Porsche -The color Silver vs. Guards Red (or the other way around) Anything from the majority makes you a more likely target. So color will matter to some degree, but in many more cases it will be your actions and what car your driving that will get you the ticket. |
I can tell you from experience that a Silver Dodge Dually will get you a ticket for 81 in a 60 in Webster Grove Mo.
I found that out last Friday. I seriously thought that the speed limit was 70 on the interstates in Mo. But a less than friendly motorcycle cop showed me it wasn't so! (never did see the signs) I get to try to explain that to a Judge at the end of September. |
my first car was an 81 firebird, rattlecan painted gray primer.
cop magnet. otherwise i hear that the whole "red cars get more tickets" thing is a myth. |

There used to be an old office building next to the freeway near me that the County used on Tuesdays and Thursdays for traffic court. The parking lot was very visable from the freeway.
There was always a large percentage of red cars in the lot. |

I think driving fast but staying in one lane helps, the people that are noticed first are cutting in and out of lanes. |
OLDER VOLVO'S ARE STEALTH
cops think they are boreing and slow but with a turbo and tuning they are NOT but seldom get tickets and unlike a Porsche , with Volvo's turbos eazy to add on with eathor stock or aftermarket parts and cheap too |
A Volvo with larger turbo still equals a brick.

It seemed like every time I rode my (red) VFR I was getting pulled over, but not necessarly ticketed every time. In defense of the LEO's it did seem to encourage behavior that would draw their attention. But now on a silver BMW with bags I seem nearly invisible to them.

definately get light green metallic
i got stopped, for no reason, all the time with this one : http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188165596.jpg it stood out during the day, at night, in summer, winter, whatever the circumstances, it was visible from a mile away my black 911 targa, never stopped my black 944, never my current 944S, marashino red, never and the 924 was the slowest one of the lot and i did drive it slower then any of the other ones even parked, people came to look at it more then any of the others "oooh a Porsche", even if many here and elsewhere consider it a VW |
