Dear Mr. Moses

Or you gotta su(k it up kid....ya gotta be tough...

I have been acutily aware of how tormented you feel at times, but I believe U have reached an accomodation with yourself, that U only have two hands and can only do so much. That death is an ineviatable for all of us. No need to rehash any of this.

However, your harshist critic is yourself. You have a hard time forgiving yourelf. That must grate on you something fierce. I would suggest that you sit down and start to think about how much you Love. Your parents, wife, children, friends, dog, your work, your hobbies. To clarify, I'm not talking about how fortunate you are to have what you have, but rather how fortunate the people who are around you are. Your capacity to love them.

Life is harsh, sometimes cruel a vertible blizard of pain. However to Love or care for something mitigates the pain and transcends the harshness with kindness and gentleness of soul.

That and get yourself some spoons.

I was on the edge of the abyss and I can testify "Spoons saved my life."

craigster59 08-23-2007 01:34 PM

I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth....

Burnin' oil 08-23-2007 01:44 PM

I, too, was on the edge of the abyss - trying to climb out - and I can testify that "spoons sucked me back down."

Spoons have amazing metaphysical healing powers that transcend the inevitable.

I can catagorically say Spoons will neither "su(k you back down," nor "save you" it has more to do with the inherent nature of your character. However with a "Plastic Spoon in your mouth" you can at least feed yourself.

Mother on the other hand gets very persnickety about her Silver Spoons as she tends to count them after every meal to see that none go missing. I think she caught on that I had a key made to her Silver Cupboard when she started accusing me of being disloyal. If it had gone on anylonger she feels she could have proved that I was the culprit. I was pawning off the Spoons so that I could buy strawberry ice cream, which I had a real thing for at the time. .

Yes, Tabs. That reminds me of the elderly lady I rented a room from many years ago who accused me of killing a bush by the driveway by peeing on it. Really chapped me that she would make such an accusation. It was true, but that's no excuse.

A real man would have gone up to the old lady and said, "It is I Burnin Oil, and I killed your bush by peeing on it."

scottmandue 08-23-2007 03:00 PM

A real man would have peed on the old lady.

Some people just won't turn the light on in the closet to see whats in there. One might think its that they are afraid to find out what is in there, but more than likly they are afraid that if they find out they will have to do something about it. So one might say ignorance is bliss for them.

However it is my considered opinion that what U don't want to know can jump out and bite U on the a$$ when U least expect it.

Before attempting to resolve the problems of others, resolve your own. Otherwise, we should keep our advice to ourselves.

This is the only advice of a personal nature I will give to anyone.

This has always been my credo. I figure my advice can only muddy up already roiled waters.

dhoward 08-24-2007 01:06 PM

Bush hates spoons.

We all have our demons. For some of us, the problem is we are never satisfied with our performance. In that case, it's very difficult to accept the conclusion that our performance is not really the problem.

If Moses asked for my help, he'd get it. In the meantime, Moses' demons are Moses' demons. Perhaps that's why we had the scotch discussion.

Word. SmileWavy

Something about motes and beams comes to mind.

Do U think I am so easily distracted by comments about Spoons and "peeing on Bushs"? My above comments can in general be applied to just about everyone on this Board in varying degrees.

dhoward 08-24-2007 01:26 PM

Sure we can....
