Marking blank discs and mindless paranoia?
The wife is sitting here duping some of her home spun DVD's.
I always avoid using a marker or sharpie on them BEFORE burning. I've always been paranoid that the gas out from the ink might over time either coat or damage the lens/internal mechanisms. I have absolutely nothing to base that on and fully admit it could be nothing other than pure paranoia. I burn a ton of discs, easily 50-100 a month. Thoughts?

Permanant markers have a evaporating oil based that quickly dries on contact with air. By the time you get it to the tray, the base is gone.
The lens in a burner can get coated with dust, so messy environments can be a problem. Avoid using a humidifier in a room with a computer. The vapor can leave a mineral coating on the lens of CD players/burners. |

Sam Adams Cream Stout can't hold a candle to Watney's CS and is half the beer of Old Peculiar. It's ok, but must be warm and seems more like a pasteurized, homogenized, Walmart-ized version of the former.
I miss the UK. ![]()
