So sad

I parted out my targa to keep G9Girl going, to no avail. Sold the tub and it was still a "nice car".

now not so much.

Well Shaun we have to what we have to do. The higher good for your resources is the Business you have created. Porsches to some degree is a profitable playtime activity (buying and selling parts).

Jims5543 08-25-2007 07:59 PM

Shaun,

I do not come on here much anymore, what is going on? I just tried to go to your G9 Website and its just a logo.

I was unaware there was a problem?

I have told so many about your product line, I thought it was brilliant.

Joeaksa 08-26-2007 02:34 AM

Sorry to hear about the car. Hope it went to a good home and hope that things with G9 will pay off eventually.

Hey, we are supposed to be back in Boston the 29th, Wednesday but only for one night. Got time to get together?

Joe

Sorry to hear that Shaun.
There are always more cars....

Shaun @ Tru6 08-26-2007 06:10 PM

hey guys, sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the condolences. I parted out my targa well over a year ago, more like 2 selling this and that over time and sold the tub a little over a year ago to my friend Nikita, who is selling it now. the death of G9Girl was, ooooooooooh, sometime around March-April last year. :(

but it was also the birth of Little Traveler, a completely new company focusing on boys clothing. Spring 07 was great, Fall was 3 times as great and 08 ought to be an exciting year as I've been fortunate enough to be able to work with 3 Pelicans in designing the various T's, shorts and pants. I'll have samples in next 2 weeks and will post.

Anyway, it was just a shocker to see what was once such a beautiful car that was fine-tuned perfectly (suspension, weightloss, motor) for my tastes, just thought I'd share a bit. anyway, thanks for the thoughtful replies. The really sad news though is I haven't driven a 911 for well over a year and I'm going stir crazy. The E is now a stripped tub with restoration resuming in September (Jason Cullen just alerted me my dash and interior are ready), but will probably not even be ready for Rennsport in November. We'll see.

Joe, let's talk. Believe it or not, I may be in Vegas this week. Will know tomorrow and I'll shoot you an email.

One iteration, of many, below.

Shaun, what age of boy clothes? Do you have a web site? Please let me know.

Shaun @ Tru6 08-26-2007 06:25 PM

hi Kim,

We are boys 12M though size 7.

here's our fall 07 linesheet: http://www.littletravelerusa.com/Little_Traveler_Fall07.pdf

We just shipped fall. don't have a website yet, but definitely need one built for us soon.

A few of our pieces are sold at, but notice our cords and jeans are not up yet:

here's another site you may consider as a selling channel. they sell only boys clothes.

Very cool items but too small for my son...

Shaun,

Why was the car parted?

the short answer is that even though the car was in top form with a DE-inspired suspension, fixed-backs, great paint, 103K mile very strong motor including SW chip, M&K exhaust, etc., the car itself had 245K miles on it. Everything was done right with no expense spared, but the mileage killed it.

No one even came close to purchasing it for it's value I placed at $13K, so I parted it and made close to twice the amount of many offers, $8 - $9K.

I sold it versus the E since this car is so easily replicable, whereas the E is a fairly special car.

i like the jacket's anywhere stocking them yet

Joeaksa 08-27-2007 12:26 PM

Shaun,

I actually may be in Vegas later this week. In Bogota right now and not sure of where we are heading next. May not make it to Boston at all...

Stay in touch and we will meet eventually. We can "social experiment" over an adult beverage! :)

The leather jackets came out great. they are a custom distress Italian lambskin. The canvas jackets arrived in what we would consider poor quality: low stitch tension on the lining, uneven stitching on the stripes, cotton thread where poly should have been used, faux YKK zippers, etc. The navy (different color than in the linesheet...we went with a true navy in production) came out OK. The natural canvas was a learning experience: raw American canvas is a "little nicer" than raw Indian canvas and as a result only a handful are sellable due to random, light stains from the mill here and there.

Shoot me an email with a size and your address and I'll send a canvas jacket gratis if you like...just understand that we are considering these second quality. Don't have anyone down south selling the leather, but I can give you one at wholesale if you like.

It looks more like I'm going to be in Vegas for the day on Wednesday. Working out a flight in the AM, return in the PM.

Fly safely.

The Jackets rock. I am showing my wife the clothing line tonight. It looks awesome. Take it from the dad of a 4 y/o and 14 y/o your on to something with the looks of these clothes. If they are of good quality, especially the $28 T-shirts then the price is not too steep but it is steep. Keep in mind a 4 y/o will out grow it before he wears it out.

While I would dole out $28 for a car t-shirt my wife would not. I hope you do not mind the feedback I do not intend it to be a slam, just insight as to what your average consumer would pay for kids clothes. Somewhere along the $15 range is more in line with the average shopper.

thanks for the kind words Jim, I've got to say, this is the most fun I've had in a long time. All our stuff is pretty high priced sorry to say, and I appreciate your feedback. We are sold in Main Street America boutiques now, hoping to get into the better department stores this spring. A couple things make them pricey including low volume, the designs--some of which are handmade like the urban dino's with in-house developed proprietary techniques, and high quality fabrics: Our T's a super soft. (if anything needs work it's our patterns...long story). The cords are really special with custom-spec'd fabric and the prospector pants have real leather straps and brass buckle hardware on the sides.

It's not everyday wear, more like casual special occasion: birthday, school trip, grandma's, etc.

2008 we'll start to knock ourselves off and create a lower price, lower quality label for Macy's, etc. to hit a broader, more accessible price point.

Send me an email and I'll put together a package for you.

S
