Over Under for Vick

So the US Atty is asking for 12 to 18 mos. The judge isn't bound by that and some sources say the judge will give him substantially more. What do you think?

Rikao4 08-25-2007 07:17 AM

Well unless his sentence includes an hour in the cage with some of those dogs he deemed unfit...whatever he gets.. it's not enough.

I'm starting to think < 18 months.

Someone that was caught with a joint in the ashtray would get close to the same.

Jim Bremner 08-25-2007 07:30 AM

I was thinking Over/Under 12 ga.SmileWavy

URY914 08-25-2007 07:38 AM

When he's in the joint he'll be bent over a chair and under his boyfriend.

BeerBurner 08-25-2007 07:42 AM

I almost don't care about the amount of jail time he gets. I'd rather see him fined heavily and permanently kicked out of professional football. I think that would hurt him a lot more. But more jail time would be nice. :)

Anyway, the jaded side of me thinks he'll end up with a pretty light punishment...

The loss of a $130 million 5 year contract is a pretty heavy fine...:D

Pardon me but that is not a fine, that is the result of pure stupidity and arrogance.

I hope he's homeless and in the streets whenever he gets out from under Bubba's care.

Evans, Marv 08-25-2007 08:59 AM

I predict 82 minutes in jail.

Tim Hancock 08-25-2007 09:48 AM

I don't care. I own a dog, but dogfighting is not too high on my "caring about the world's problems" meter.

Porsche-O-Phile 08-25-2007 11:08 AM

Put me down for $20 on the under - federal charges only. Federal plus state is another matter and depends on the indictments Commonwealth of VA brings.

Porsche-O-Phile 08-25-2007 11:10 AM

IMHO they ought to fine his ass about $100M and put every penny of that into humane "no kill" shelters and veterinary services, adoption programs, etc. for pets.

THAT would be justice. Not just seeing Vick spend time in the slammer to gain more "street cred" with his ghetto-trash buddies.

Mule 08-25-2007 01:11 PM

I don't know how many millions he's got at the moment. The Falcons are suing for $22 mil. The lawyers cant be cheap. Just for the record I think about 3 yrs.

gassy 08-25-2007 01:18 PM

Unfortunately, 3 months at most. Just my guess.
Go Bears.

Lothar 08-25-2007 01:42 PM

Football players can kill humans and walk free. Kill a dog and you're going to do time.

And this makes sense why?

Moneyguy1 08-25-2007 03:46 PM

Are you, by any chance, referring to a former member of the Buffalo Bills?

I was thinking of another tack...How many people who have no feeling for the lives of animals have as little regard for human life as well?

Agree completely.

I don't want him to be that destitute. 'Cause then my/our tax dollars will be going to support his destitute @ss.

That is how Dahmer, and a lot of other serial killers got started, with animals.

I have no sympathy or empathy for Mr. Vick. However, I wonder if the media circus and outrage would have been the same if it had been say Brett Favre rather than Michael Vick that got caught ?? Just something to think about.

SlowToady 08-25-2007 06:23 PM

Yes, it would have. Damn this overly polite society we live in today; this is NOT a "black thing." Stop letting the extremists cloud your vision. What Vick did is disgusting, and illegal, no matter what the color of his skin or his ethnic origins.

However, I don't think Jesse Jackson and Sharpton would come running to Favre's rescue. Also, I'm not sure that a fellow athlete would defend Favre by saying dog fighting and murdering the dogs is "no worse than deer hunting."

Also, I wouldn't count on Vick being made anyone's ***** in prison; he's a rather large individual and I'm sure he can throw em' when he has to. Add to that, that he's a sports star, and Bubba might be *his* *****. Oh well.
