You have to deauthorize from the old computer and then it becomes easier to import to the new computer. How did it go with getting the data from the old computer?

Hey Dave, I think I found it. I'll try after I get back from the gym. I'll post what I find out.

I'm slowly transferring with the cd burner. The old puter is windows ME, so I can use a transfer cord.

You can authorize up to 5 machines, so why not just authorize the new machine and synch away?

Maybe I am missing something?

There is also a good program for Macs called Senuti that allows moving music around from Macs to other Macs, but I don't know if there is a Windows version.

FYI.

Best,

Kurt

I've never used it, but here is the claimed Senuti equivalent for PCs:

I use Anapod Explorer. You can install it on as many computers as you like. It will allow transfer from Ipod to Computer and back again. I am not a fan of I-tunes. Cost is $25.

Hugh, I had offered to come out make the data transfer easy for you. All you have to do is ask.

Hey Dave:

Thanks much, and I do appreciate it. But the old puter only had about 15 gig on it, so its about 15-20 cds. Besides, I'm moving ipod stuff from my kids computer to it as well. I'm running into a little trouble with the ipod transfer thing. My kids puter doesn't seem to see the ipod in "my computer" I may owe you a beer or three. Come to think of it, why not PM me with your phone no. and come out anyway, your help would be great and you can say goodbye to the DB4, it hasn't left yet.

You can use your iPod as a storage device to copy the iTunes folder from one pc to another. The iTunes website has some info on the procedure.

Me too, the Anapod s/w is much better than the Apple s/w.

As I went to bed last night, my teenage son said he'd take care of it. This morning, it all seems to be there. I got to look a little closer tonight when I get home.
