How about "Our House"?

JavaBrewer 08-29-2007 01:31 PM

Aqualung - hell anything by Jethro Tull

nostatic 08-29-2007 01:47 PM

you guys have become your parents...

There is some amazing rap and hip hop out there. But if your ears/mind is closed and locked in a nice time warp, you'll never hear it.

Try "Kushin' and Pushin'" by Tha Dogg Pound. Or "Why You Wanna" by T.I. And if you want to go mashup, check out the Gray Album:

Music didn't die when you turned 25...

scottmandue 08-29-2007 01:58 PM

I have become my parents? But my parents are still alive! Is this one of those parallel universe thingies?

Mr_Wizard 08-29-2007 02:00 PM

What a bunch of curmudgeons. How many of you take Centrum Silver?

Wellll... I bet you most of the guys posting here are much younger than me (at 50)

I am willing to bet most of our curmudgons friends are not over 40... or even 30 :D

Shes buying a stairway to heaven....

tabs 08-29-2007 02:12 PM

Ahhh..yeah Freebird would make the top o the list except I never got through it in the first place.

sammyg2 08-29-2007 02:54 PM

I hear all the amazing rap and hip hop I can stand and then some, as they drive by with their windows down and their stereos cranked up full blast.
No thanks. Don't wanna hear it, don't wanna be them, don't wanna be around them, don't want any part of it. besides, I admit that I am too old to try and be cool or impress anyone.

Which, actually, happens to be the most played song in radio. My assembly guy hates it. I like it, in moderation

I could live without ever hearing 90% of the music my wife listens to ever again. Most of it makes me want to kill myself to get away from it. Seriously. I almost leapt out of a moving car once....
30 seconds to Mars, Tool, Aiden...at least it's not Korn, Hole, and Marylin Manson so much any more....
One I can tolerate and sort of enjoy of hers is Rammstein.

JW...I'll have to drive by your shop sometime playing Spirit in the Sky. Loudly. :D
I like the song...not tremendously, but it's probably the only "spiritual" religious song out there I appreciate. Love the dark, trudgy guitar tone. I can live without hearing it though.

You're probably right and I don't care.

No, actually there isn't....and that is by almost unanimous acclaim. You're young and brain damaged which is why you call that crap "music". Listen to a classic rock station if you actually want to hear real music.

Uh huh, see what I mean about brain damage? I don't know why anyone WANTS to be called a "dog" but if you do, maybe you should learn to spell it! And while you're at it, learn how to spell "the"...its fairly basic.

Since I'm at it, I don't know what "go mashup" means and I'm reasonably sure there are already words for in the English language for whatever it is.

True, but I'm pretty sure it suffered mortal injury during the Disco years.:D

Sirius 16, The Vault. My first preset, followed by the 70's station. Then pure jazz, then hip hop, then Shade 45, then...

I admit to brain damage (the lost years were...um...lost) but at 45 I don't know that I qualify as "young."

Yes, classic rock artists are notoriously good spellers and grammarians ;)

Well, you could have clicked on the link and listened to some of it. Expand your mind and all that rot... :p

There was some kick-ass disco cranked out during the 70's as well. I hated it at the time, but I was a "rocker snob" who had a very bad attitude :p

chapo 08-29-2007 10:11 PM

Anything by U2 or the Eagles. How many more times do I have to hear it? I couldn't figure out why my dad would turn off "Light my Fire" every time it came on. Now I know.

sand_man 08-30-2007 05:44 AM

I'm sure I'll be flogged for saying this one, but *ANYTHING* from Aerosmith...especially "Dude Looked Like a Lady"!!!! It came on this morning as I was dropping my son off at school, and I nearly jumped out of the car, holding my ears!

Porsche_monkey 08-30-2007 05:59 AM

Page 3 and still no Barry Manilow? WTF?

Also, pretty much ANY Mariachi music or anything with an accordion in it (other than Weird Al Yankovic songs).
