The problem is the buggy Safari for the Mac. Use Firefox or Internet Explorer instead.

Have you tried "search"?

I had the same problem since Pelican was upgraded. I use Firefox and now it works fine.

Camino. Simplest, smallest, fastest.

Fonts often cause problems like this. A good approach is to empty out all of your non-standard fonts. Then, add them in one by one to find which one is causing problems. I've chased my tail many times because of corrupt fonts. OS X just doesn't like em.

crashing on mac

so I either need to switch browsers or upgrade to a later safari, huh? Thanks for all the help.

Just tried a search on Pelican using Safari 3.0.3 without problems. I also generally use Camino and prefer it to Safari, but the latest version seems to work fine.

I had the problem until I switched to the new safari beta, too, but only intermittently.
