Tanqueray 10

Thanks to you guys I recently upgraded from Bombay Sapphire to Hendrick's gin.

Have been hearing some good things about Tanqueray Ten some bad. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have been looking for a bottle of Quintessential as per some recommendations on this board but have not found it yet.

My perfect drink:

3 Schweppes tonic
2 Gin
As much ice as possible
Slice of lime

(Real men dont measure but I am a great aproximizer, if that is a word)

Unless you are making a martini, I personally believe you are wasting any of those gins if you are just mixing a gin & tonic. Perhaps my taste buds have been dulled over the years but that's my opinion.

Their all good to excellent gins, just depends on one's taste.

I've always liked Beefeater, just on the rocks.

I don't really drink gin or vodka all that often (more of a beer-and-wine guy), but I personally believe Tanqueray Ten to be the single tastiest, easiest-drinking gin widely available.

You guys REALLY need to try Plymouth Gin or Brokers London dry. Both are old school gins like beefeater, but even more fragrant and smooth, if you can believe it. But I'll always choose Beefeater over the new ones.

The designer gins seem to be aiming for the vodka drinkers, imo, and are analogous to blended scotch whisky over single malts.

Yeah, before I decided to be a physicist a lot of my friends said that I should be a chef as I have exceptionally strong taste.

I have tried every variation of making a martini but I still haven't had one that did anything for me other then get me drunk.

Not a fan of Beefeaters, the juniper is blinding, but perhaps I am too young of a gin drinker.

Beef and tonic, double lime!

A good pint of Guinness always puts me in a good mood as well.
