Little Traveler Spring 08
Finally, here it is, our Spring 08 linesheet (wholesale catalog for our sales reps).
http://littletravelerusa.com/LT_Spring_08_Linesheet_NP.pdf I've had the great fortune to work with 3 Pelicans in putting this together: TargaFlorio who created the Vintage Racer line Gostraight who created the Road & Track line and deanp. Without his help on Skeleton Warriors, RAF and Bronco, these lines just wouldn't be. Dean also did all of the line drawing graphics in the linesheet. In short, he's a real lifesaver! I'm thinking about doing a run of the Road & Track artwork, perhaps just the RSR to start, as well as the Carrera6 and 910 in the Vintage Racer on simple T's in men's sizes. What do you guys think? . |
Love the Vintage Racer stuff! Actually the whole line looks great.
Not sure about the collared shirts--hard to tell from the drawing. Is it a soft RL style collar, or a stiffer golf shirt style? Also not sure about the Madras collar. I was at Kenzie Kids last weekend and they had a ton of the Burberry plaid, so I guess it's stylish. Whenever I see that I think of lower class Brits. The Dino (chomp) design is the one I see at retail most often. Was that your best seller? |
Good lookin' stuff, Shaun! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...ys/drummer.gif
Nothing that fits me, tho ... Congrats to you and the team. |

Shaun - I like this stuff alot. I think our Son would wear it all - but he would really respond to the Road & Track and the Vintage Racing pieces.
The Poplin Button-down would be cool with the Urban Dino thing going on it. Add a pith helmet or a safari aussie hat as an add on and you really have a winner! Let me know if you need a few models! Looks great dude. Also - I think the coller shirts would be recieved well by Moms who want to get a little bit better style for school and Church wear. |
Feedback from the father of a well-dressed 3 year old.......
Love the t-shirts, especially the dino, battle of Britan, and car ones. Skeleton stuff isn't really my thing, but I could see it appealing to some kids. I'm not so big on the shorts, pants, and collared shirts. Maybe it's just me, but I think some of the designs on the pants and shorts is a big awkward. I typically prefer less to more when it comes to shorts and pants. Collared shirts, especially the plaid collar, don't really do it either. They look somewhat like t-shirts that had collars added to them. Kind of a casual collared, but many kids don't like to wear collared shirts. Maybe a bit too casual to wear when collars are required. Regardless, well done. I would happily buy one of the T's for my son, but I doubt they are in KS stores. |
Just beautiful, Shaun. Congratulations! Who will be retailing these?

When I was little, I found a sweat shirt that said "RACING" and the number "917". That was the closest thing I could find to clothes that depicted race cars and Porsches, more specifically. I wish I'd been able to wear LT stuff!
But, doesn't mean I wouldn't like a 906 or RSR shirt nowadays! Great work, Shaun (and crew).... Cheers, Scott |
Looks great Shawn, I like the pants and shorts too, but probably with the art on them.
Time to put an order together.... cheers |
I really like the shirts with the car prints. I would have loved to have something like that when I was a kid!
|
Shaun, we need these in the pre-teen sizes... when will I get to see these?
Great work... let me know if you make the men's stuff... I might want to talk to you about something for the women on this site... :) |

thank you very much everyone for the pros and cons of support! Honestly, couldn't have done it with Nicolas, Radu and Dean. They get the most kudos.
You guys are spot on about a few things, notably the madras collar on the polos. the bitten/frayed, washed out look should work, but was definitely a risk. We'll see next week. if they suck, we'll tell our showrooms that production will be body color. the T-Rex skull is going to be a Little Traveler trademark, much like the polo player, alligator, tiger, etc. Jon, collars on the polos are soft rib as are the armbands. Package coming next week. Mark, if we do XL T's with the RSR, I'll get one out to you. We'll see Gaijin. I'll check with Wayne on running these and selling them on the boards like emptyo is doing. good thoughts Mike, some of those are what we've got in mind. Our stuff is priced for birthday, dinner at grandma's, field trips, church, etc. We can't compete with Old Navy everyday wear. The bare poplins were slated for an RAF military theme with name and rank stenciled on with the RAF logo embroidered on the pocket corner, but just couldn't get it done in time. Maybe I'll take a piece or 2 here and see what the T-Rex looks like on it. great thoughts from a Midwestern dad Matt, thanks. No stores in KS, but we are in a few online stores. Of course this stuff won't be up until Feb 1 next year. But I'll put you on the list to get a few things out to you. Thanks Jorge, and everyone, I'd like to introduce you to the man who helped Little Traveler more than anyone else so far, I mean it. Jorge set us up with a local importer and walked us through our receipt of Fall goods step by step. Without him, I imagine our Fall inventory would be in the back of storage locker some place at the airport today. Jorge, I am forever in your debt! :) Look for something soon. Thanks Scott, I would really like to do the C6 on basic T's for men. Will let you know end of Sept. Thanks Jeff, will put together a package once we've got inventory worked out. Thanks Lee, I really appreciate all your support! Thanks Kim. Preteen boys is a tough market! A lot of people want us to go into it, but sales are tiny. if anything, when we go into men's in fall 08, we'll just include a few smaller, loose sizes for boys. We're kicking men's off with WWII Vargus-style bomber girl art. I'm all ears, send me a note anytime. Thanks Pete, will get a fall package out to you next week. :) |

BTW, Andi looked at the new line. She liked the dino stuff, but said she preferred the Ts with the larger dino print. I know she's not your target market, but thought I'd pass it on. |

Very cool stuff Shaun! Good luck with it!

Shaun, my three year old loves the blue racecar shirts. If it's OK I'd like to purchase a couple direct. Are they in stock now?
Second, a little constructive criticism... The line art just doesn't have a realistic enough feel for me to be comfortable with the actual look of the final product(if I were buying large lots for store stock). When mixed with the real photo inlays it takes on that Cafe Press look. Just an observation. |
len - photography is always better, however when samples and product are not done and readily available this is the next best thing. A line art catalog accompanied by representative samples will usually do the trick, once the accounts are comfortable with your product and reputation.
Shaun is working EXTEMELY hard to get everything in place to make this a succcess. I have seen first hand the effort going in to this project and hope that the hard work will bear fruit for a long time to come. I don't want to speak out of turn, but photography will be forthcoming as correct samples arrive and would assume they will be added to the line sheet a website as soon as possible. I can say it has a been a pleasure working with Shaun in the last three weeks. |

Most pre-teen boys do not like collared shirts. Of course, when I was that age, I hated collared shirts, but I would have worn any of them with the car prints simply because I loved cars(obviously still do). I don't have a son, but I'm quite sure my 7 yr. old daughter would wear any of the Road & Track shirts (especially if they were T Shirts!) and at least one or two of the Vintage Racer shirts. If we can't purchase them direct, where can we expect them to be sold? Thanks, Mike |
