New Coffee Machine at Work - Help Me Stop! On My 8th Cup!!!

Just got a new Coffee machine in - allows you to make a variety of flavers and blends - espresso, lattes, flavored, Chi - the combos are almost endless and the taste goes anywhere from Dunk'n Donut to Starfuchs and back trough to homebrew.

I can't stop!!! My resting heartrate is about 120 right now. I have been able to pump out 5 reports while doing a conference call to Canada while checking VM on my cell and cruz'n OT!

Although my American level of producivity is soaring, I think I may blow a valve and become a burdon on society and my family instead of a valued individual contributor.

Gots ta get da monkey off my back....

Dude, why hold back?

Do like I used to do in grad school and brew up that schit with Crank-2-O or Water Joe.

That's some good stuff right there.

Is this one of those machines with the little packets? Those things are great! I was tearing through the combinations back when I was in training.

Think how much faster you'll be with those safety wire pliers after the 10th cup! zipzip!

Does it brew decaf? Switch to that.

When you crash later on you will remember why you don't do this more often... and if you have trouble sleeping tonight.

Tischer Porsche in Silver Spring, MD has one of those too. I love having tech inspections there. We have one in our office too. Must cost a bundle to keep that stuff stocked.

They took the coffee brewer and the free coffee away from our offices a few weeks ago. Last week they installed the packet style machine - 50 cents a pop. And some of the flavor versions (Snickers?) take 2 packs.

I've gone from drinking about 4 cups a day (at work) to drinking 0.

yup...1AM and wide eyed awake! Yet another example of what seemed like a good idea at the time...

We installed an Espresso machine in the office.

Moderation is your friend. Moderation.

Also, choosing the decaf might help.

As far as I understand, Sweden has for many years been #1 on coffee consumers list. Among Swedes their are no community drinking more coffee than in the Health Care business. The day they take away our free coffee in the hospitals will be the end of Swedish Healthcare. I probably drink between eight and twelve cups a day - and that is no fuzzy mashine powder coffee, but the real deal, brewed grinded beans. We all prescribe stomach ulcer medication to our selves.

The worst side effect for me is the hand tremor. Can get really embarrasing when trying to fiddle a small catheter into the small lumen of a tiny prematurely born childīs naval vessels. :D

My best tip for moderation is to blend about 1/5 of Vodka in the coffee.

Only 8 cups?! Hell, that's just getting started for an engineer!

Markus, I'd lean more towards the Irish coffee. Week I've had, it's been damn tempting.

It sounds like the coffee is adding to you anxiety, so go ahead and pop a few more anti-anxiety pills to help even yourself out....Elvis....

Decaf... DECAF?

THAT'S JUST CRAZY TALK!

Then I suppose you could cut the buzz with a few non-alcoholic beers?:D
