I wasn't going to Post the End of the DB4's Life, but here it is.

I removed the car from my signature, it dead as far as I'm concerned. I know some of you post in your sigs "sold" and I'm not going to do that. But here it is going to Kuwait last week. I couldn't even get up the emotion to clean her off. I'm not depressed, just a little sad. But then again, I go and look at my bank statement online and I feel a little better. I'm going to be one of those old farts who I see at a concours who says "I used to own". http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1189225958.jpg

Hugh - very pretty car. Those Brits made in beauty what the Germans made in sheer aesthetic force.

Why did you sell it? I hope it's a matter of "...an offer you can't refuse."

Did you at least get a Kuwaiti oil track?

I have a friend from Wales who'd give his left nut for a DB. Not that you need another left nut, I assume.

Hey Hugh,

You saw the car through the hard years when less careful owners might have shown neglect & abuse.

With its current value, it seems like it became more of a burden than a priveledge. You did the right thing, IMO.

It's still beautiful, even if you don't own it.

I bet you can buy a lot of parts for the Porsche now!

I don't know the first thing about old British Cars, but it sure is purty.

Great car, at least you could give it an amazing home. The pay day I'm sure will be very useful. It'd be nice if I could get a boost to my retirement like that without having to have a relative pass away.

Do a little something special for the targa with a tiny bit of the dough.

Hugh...I think I know a bit of what you're feeling...

ditto...Hugh, trust me...in a few weeks, the pain will be gone. :D Then a sense of relief, like a burden lifted, will come on...

If it will make you feel any better, you can post a "screenshot" of your online bank statement. J/K, at least you've had the good fortune of owning a beautiful car for 3 decades. Now go out and but something really nice for yourself.

Why keep a car if it doesn't get driven..? You did the right thing, I had a neighbor who had a 60 something Pontiac GTO. Extremely low mileage, showroom condition. He said to me "I don't drive it, it doesn't even see sunshine" (not kidding!). What a waste I thought.

He would see me come and go in my 911, says he always admired them, even had a 930 at one time. I think he would look at the rock chips on the front of my car with a little envy.

Not sure what to say... but IMHO you did the right thing.

And damn me for not going to see it when I had the chance.:(

And also IMHO the British and Italians make THE most beautiful cars in the world.

The good news is I hear the muslims treat their cars much better than they treat their women;).

Lets look at the bright side Hugh can use the money he got from the sale of his DB for filling up his tank with gasoline.
