cursor freezing

Anyone else have a cursor that locks in place temporarly or occasionally until you reboot? I'm running XP, ad-aware and AVG. CPU activity is not "pegging" when this occurs. It's really pissing me off. If someone has some simple instructions (I'm not a computer geek) I'm willing to to try them.
