My 9-series "barn find"...
Found an ad on Craigslist (no pics) advertising a "9-series" Porsche Landau, 1978. Entire car, motor/trans, not running, $1000.00 obo.
So I'm thinking...1978 9-series "landau"? Must be a 911 SC Targa, right? I e-mail the owner and she replies "Come and get it. I have to get rid of this car. $500 and it's yours". I rush over to claim my "prize", $500 in hand...only to find this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4/PORSCHE4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4/PORSCHE7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4/PORSCHE3.jpg Well...she wasn't lying. It is a "9-series" and it is a "landau" (sorta...she couldn't afford to replace the rear window, so she had a canvas company make her a snap-top with plastic window to cover the opening). So...I learned a lesson today. Never assume. :( |
What is that by the rear wing? A snowshoe????

For five hundred. it better come with Martin Landau:)
Interesting that my 1994 rear lens look a thousand times worse than this beast. |
Yeah, the rear lenses looked almost new. I think those were replaced fairly recently. Well...as recently as the car may have been on the road.
|
I have a rear hatch if you need:rolleyes:

For once, I'm not sure if it's worth it even for $500. I don't think 924 prices are commanding a premium these days.
The "landau" really has me stumped. Maybe this was one of the 924s originally with the "LeMans" decals? |
The side gills are a nice touch.
|
944 I believe.
