No way, how could a man with such high moral standards stoop to violence?
Just one more example of the man trying to keep him down.

The prosecution didn't fail, the jury failed. Maybe it was racism, maybe bleeding hearts who didn't want to look like racists, maybe it was payback for Rodney king (another fine upstanding citizen).

The bottom line is that the evidence did not matter. They still would have aquitted him even if they saw him commit the murders in person. They deserve to be gator bait almost as much or OJ.

Rodney is just a poor loser, whose wife used to beat him up.

The Prosecution blew the OJ trial. If the glove doesn't fit U must aquitt. Did't the police realize that with such a celebrity that everything they did wouyld be looked at under a microscope. Didn't the police realize that OJ wasn't some poor dumb man that could be railroaded off to prison, he had $$$$$ to spend on defense.

And it was just a matter of time before OJ got himself into trouble again. Nevada isn't a Liberal state, they send people to prison here. This time Johnny Johnny isn't around to defend him, and he doesn't have the same cubic $$$ bills to spend on defense.

Simpson was granted bail and he raced away from the reporters in a white bronco.

Porsche-O-Phile 09-16-2007 02:47 PM

Has he called Johnny Cochran's corpse yet?

Mishandling of evidence. A bumbling of facts by the prosecution, a racist cop as prosecution's star witness, gross ineptitude on the part of the LAPD, poor cross examination. Even if the acquittal was racially based, prosecution failed to help against acquittal. Cochran out-argued Darden and Clark, Simpson put on a fantastic "act" of trying on the glove, the Bruno Magli shoes were a sham, and defense had Ito eating from their hands because of the case's high profile. What other judge would allow "invisible evidence" as a legitimate argument in a courtroom? And to my recollection, Darden and Clark didn't object to that argument. Plus you have the history between Simpson and Brown, his cut finger, and the fact Simpson presented himself as a flight risk (the slow-speed chase), and prosecution couldn't make something of it?

No, depending upon many things, the jury didn't help. But the prosecution didn't help convince the jury of what their ultimate decision should have been.

Darden and Clark should have attempted a mistrial.

this is a dream come true for the media. just sit back and enjoy the show

OJ belongs on death row at San Quinten for the brutal murder of 2 people. He's now laughing at the world.
Nothing will happen to him here either. He'll just say , i went up to get my stuff, i didn't know my friend was going to pull a gun. no burglary. I was let in. it was a "sting operation", whatever.

Just watch. Nothing will happen to OJ. that's because celebrities play under a separate justice system than the rest of us. No Saddam Hussein justice served in this case.

I hope the Goldman family is enjoying this. At least a little bit.

A little bit? They are probably eating this alive! What more would you want to see than your son's killer behind bars, no matter what the crime? Hell, I'm enjoying this! His acquittal was the biggest travesty of justice that I have ever seen.

OJ can always use the Chewbacca defense.

That would be "The Ghost of Johny Cochran." He makes regular appearances on "Mind of Mencia."

RoninLB 09-16-2007 09:07 PM

Cochran
Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote "Stinky Britches" ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself! But, ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!

Gerald Broflovski
Damn it!

Chef
What?

Gerald
He's using the Chewbacca Defense!

Cochran
Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, [approaches and softens] does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

I bet he gets off. It's one scumbag's word against another scumbag's word.

Is scumbag two words?

He is gonna be a real sweetheart in Clark County Jail. They love soft butts in there.

Unfortunately they put him in a solitary cell. Should have put him in with the general public there and let him be someone's punk.

dd74 09-17-2007 11:27 AM

I watched the news conference in regard to what Simpson will be charged with. All I can say is Las Vegas authorities don't seem enamored with OJ's star status like L.A. I think he's in a bit of a predicament there in Sin City.

Zeke 09-17-2007 11:36 AM

The charges are pretty serious felonies: armed robbery, AWADW, conspiracy to commit burglary with a deadly weapon and burglary with a firearm. Seems like there's some redundancy there, but it would likely get me 20 years.

And no bail. Arraignment on Thurs. Methinks his kids are gonna get taken away from him regardless of the outcome. Did Nicole's dad want them? Seems like I read that once. He might get them, now.

This all sure is convenient for the publishing of the book, now that Fred got the rights. It ought to sell out the first printing rather quickly.

sammyg2 09-17-2007 11:46 AM

I'm betting all the "victims" will develop amnesia and won't be able to testify against him. I sure hope i'm wrong.
