Another thought, regarding Bonds. If you were in his shoes, and someone was accusing you of using drugs to cheat, and that everything you had accomplished was a lie, how would you respond if you were innocent? Would you simply ignore it, and allow your good name to be tainted?

Instead of feverishly denying the allegations, suing those that ruin his good name, etc, Bonds has said nothing. This coming from a guy that has never been shy with the media or fans. All of a sudden he's the shy girl in the corner at the school dance? But if he never denys it, at least he's not a liar. At least Bellicheck admits that he was wrong.

Porsche-O-Phile 09-19-2007 05:00 AM

Has anyone proven any wrongdoing in any of the Patriots' wins except for one game? No.

22 wins in a row.

3 superbowls.

All legit. Until proven otherwise.

Bonds' impropriety HAS been proven otherwise, by his own admission and it encompasses a much larger (no pun) period of time. The only thing that should have an "asterisk" next to it, if anything, is ONE game against the Jets, who likely would have been beaten handily anyway.

Mule 09-19-2007 05:08 AM

Not quite. I HATE Bonds but nobody has proved a thing. Belichick on the other hand is a proven cheater and the truth is NOBODY knows how much of an advantage it has been over the years.

If you look at it Belichich was pretty much of an also ran until out of the blue, he becomes a genius. Video camera, steroids, you be the judge.

I guess the Giants were using cameras when they won the Super Bowls ?
LT (the REAL LT) must have been shown the plays, that's why the D was so good ?

Mule 09-19-2007 12:23 PM

Is that what the crystal ball says? If your guys cheated then everybody did. Do you also post as on ramp?

mule
1 |myo?l| noun 1 the offspring of a donkey and a horse (strictly, a male donkey and a female horse), typically sterile and used as a beast of burden. • a person compared to a mule, esp. in being stubborn or obstinate

Not to be confused with:

ass
1 |as| noun 1 a hoofed mammal of the horse family with a braying call, typically smaller than a horse and with longer ears.
2 informal a foolish or stupid person : that ass of a young man.

This is a public service as I have trouble remembering which are which. SmileWavy

Actually the knick name came about for another reason. Like they say Jim, the truth shall set you free, but first it will piss you offSmileWavy.

This is far from the first time Belicheat has been called out on this and there should be an * next to every victory you mention. You can justify it with your own blind love of the team however the hard core evidence for this is worse than any allegations Bonds has faced...

Coach should be facing at least a 3 game suspension or they should forfeit the Jets victory. Either way they got off easy and have cheated their way to a Dynasty aided by the NFL.

mattdavis11 09-19-2007 02:57 PM

Forfeit the Jets games? That wouldn't do much good, they'd still win the division. Come on, look at who else they play twice a year, Buffalo & My Amy! The Cardinals could win that division year in year out. No offense to Cards fans.

I think the NFL should disallow any points that come off of field goals, as well as strip the ones that did since Billacheck started coaching the Pats, and it remain that way until he quits cheating.

Alright, Mule you got me. How about Brady as Rick Mirer's lawn boy.

Mule 09-19-2007 03:06 PM

Huh? i think Brady is the best in the league. He's still no Joe.

Jim Garfield 09-19-2007 03:12 PM

You guys are like a bunch of bitter old women.

YIKES - I thought that my wife was reading over my shoulder. ...NOT YOU DEAR!

Just the feild goals would have cost them their first trip to and also their first SB victory... of which I attended.,

mattdavis11 09-19-2007 03:22 PM

Possibly all 3 SB's. If anybody deserves high acclaims, it should be Vinatieri. The QB didn't win those games.

Because perception is more real than reality to people, and therefore it would be a waste of time, effort and money. He could give hair, blood etc and even if it all came back negative there would be someone posting a before and after picture saying the test results are flawed because of how he looks....

Well all those MVP trophies would say otherwise.

Here's another one for all you haterz: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/dr_z/09/19/week2.rankings.part1/index.html?bcnn=yes

My pick is NE by 21 for Sunday. They're pissed at all the haterz/doubterz and are going to just keep puttin' a hurtin' on anyone they face for many games to come.

Red Baron 09-19-2007 04:20 PM

No doubt they are talented, which makes their cheating even more unacceptable.

And fwiw I far from hate the Pats. That doesn't mean they did not cheat and had been doing so for quite some time though.

You do know that Belichick was the defensive coordinator of those teams - right ?
Or are you just interested in football scandals ?

Look, I am not happy that the Pats cheated, but you are nuts if you think what they did disqualifies THE PLAYERS at the very least from what they EARNED on the field.
Keep it in perspective.
What they did - and it is not clear YET just what that was - YOU certainly don't know - was not right but worse things have been done.

Vinatieri (bless him) has got the acclaim he deserves, but unless he kicked the ball from where each of those drives started the MVP has to go to the guy who lead the teams into his range.
