The shop next door received a theft recovery today. I wonder why the bad guys left it running in the middle of the street.

Only problem is that today the vehicle like this might get stolen because it has radioactive materials inside. In the old days advertising like this to keep perps away was fine but maybe a different story today.

Is the flip side in Spanish?

The sign above appears home-made, as a deterrent to auto thieves.

A few years ago, in San Diego, some dirt-merchant decided to put a note in the driver's window of his RV, which was parked in a mall parking lot. Apparently it had been stolen/burglarized and he was fed-up:

Attention: This vehicle is rigged to explode if tampered with or entered without permission, blah, blah, blah.

Of course, this was written on cardboard in black Sharpie with many misspellings and grammatical errors. It looked/read like a bad ransom note.

The vehicle was subsequently surrounded and searched by the local EOD. Owner was reprimanded.

Hoot! That's funny. Some years ago, a guy reported a stolen car to the Portland, Oregon cops. He got the usual NON response. Then he added that he was an explosives demolition guy, and "may" have left some explosives in the trunk. He got his car back the next day. Yes, he was a legit demolition guy...but gee, the recovered car had zero explosives in it...bad memory, right? ;)

Have had more or less the same response when an airline loses my bag. Then I casually mention that there is a commercial pilots uniform and such inside and "do you want to contact TSA or should I?" For some silly reason my bags are found real quick...

I get to say that there are firearms in the bag. DO you understand how dangerous it is for firearms to be in the sterile area of the airport?

This usually gets me a station manager and requests for what I do for a living. I always decline to answer by saying "I'd rather not say."
