onewhippedpuppy, UT plays KSU the week before they play OU. Should be a good game since it's a home game for Texas. As for Arkansas not handling Bama, that was an exciting fourth quarter. Bama scores a TD with 8 seconds left to win it. They aren't the best teams in the SEC (Bama or Ark) but both could be spoilers for LSU. The conference is so competitive. Take a look at what happened to Louisville, they were ranked in the top ten, and weren't the best team in their own state. In case you didn't know, UK is considered a weak link in SEC football.

Mule
"I think I understand. SEC teams should play every tough team inside the conference & only top 10 teams outside the conference. That way USC can tiptoe through that limp wristed west coast schedule & be Nat Champs every year. Great plan!" I think I understand, some people just protest too much. Like the anti gay Senator from Idaho, it turns out he may be gay. Did you try to go to USC and not get in, is that your problem? Are you really a closet USC fan? Do you slip secret notes to the people you work with about what a great team USC has, how well they are coached and how deep the talent runs this year, how this may be the best team Pete Carroll has had, how Booty may very well get the Heisman. Go ahead, come on out of the closet, it will be good for you. Y'all have fun now, Y'heah. |
By the way there Karnak, you do know that Booty is at USC 'cause he didn't know if he could start at LSU, hmmm?

Looks like there really is a God and he was looking out for him. |
We agree. He still might not be starting at LSU.
PS The best player in college football right now is Darren Mc Fadden at Ark. He plays running back, quarterback, wide receiver & fields kicks. He is awesome at every position. |

That Prima Donna Biotch is exactly where he belongs.

Just now on NFL network they were talking about the fact that USC's points are all on the ground & "is the passing game OK."

Quote:
all they ever play is overrated teams and never have to perform, why pass when you can run so well. |
You're coming around.
|
I'll go out on a limb, and say that Reggie Bush would have never won the Heisman had he played in the SEC.
Discuss... |
That's probably true.

With Bama coming back, and Kentucky looking pretty good, the SEC is very strong. Even most of the unranked teams are still quite dangerous, such as Auburn and Arkansas. The Big 12 is quite similar, but the overall level of talent isn't as high. Sure makes for an exciting season! |
BTW USC fan, I'm still waiting for proof of USC graduating 100% of their football players, all of them majoring in engineering or finance.

They probably at least graduated with skills in reading comprehension. |

Good attempt at avoiding the issue by insulting those who question you, have you considered a career in politics? |
And non of us can read. That's the problem. Now if we'd played football at USC, we'd have the kind of reading skills necessary to follow a forward thinker like Bey.
From ESPN Among The Associated Press' Top 25 football teams, five schools met or exceeded the national average with Notre Dame leading the way at 95 percent. The others were Nebraska at 88 percent, Florida at 80 percent, TCU at 78 percent and Clemson at 77. The NCAA's figure for Florida nearly doubled the 42 percent rate from the federal report. Top-ranked Ohio State and Southern California, the 2004 national champion, both came in at 55 percent. Three of the Top 25 schools had graduation rates below 50 percent. They were Texas (40 percent), Georgia (41) and California (44). I'm sorry Bey. I hope this doesn't ruin your morning. At least USC can still claim to have the most famous double murderer in US history.SmileWavy An personally, I love the skirts.:p |

I guess you will have to find that statement and repost it here. |
Actually, NOW there's NO post with ANY reference to graduation at all. HMMMMM, mass hypnosis, or post editing, you make the call!
Clown! |

Maybe hypnosis or as I said before, a problem with reading comprehension, I don't delete. I am not sure how it works but aren't all the posts numbered? |

How good is LSU's defense?
ESPN Research ran the numbers: National rankings Category Stat Rank Scoring 2.3 1st Total ypg 128.3 1st Rush ypg 30.0 3rd Pass ypg 98.3 2nd Pass eff. 54.3 1st Sacks 13 T-4th Int 7 T-3rd Want more evidence? • None of LSU's first three opponents has reached 150 yards of total offense. • Those teams are averaging exactly 1 yard per carry on the ground and have a measly 40.2 completion percentage through the air. • Virginia Tech reached the red zone once, the only appearance for an LSU opponent this year. No other team in the SEC has allowed fewer than eight trips into the red zone. • Have held opponents to less than 10 yards in 25 of 37 possessions, with the longest first-half drive being a 34-yarder by Mississippi State in the opener. • Given up just 385 total yards, lowest total after three games in school history. It's also nearly 400 yards less than the SEC No. 2 team in total defense, Florida (781 yds). • Dating back to the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame, the Tigers' D has pitched a shutout in 13 of the last 14 quarters, outscoring the opposition 157-7 over that span. |

I bet Indy's still crying over missing him!

The Raiders too...

Reminds me of that Saturday night live skit with John Goodman (who would not have started in the SEC ;) ) about the Chicago bears.
I remember them pondering if the "da bears" could win the Indianapolis 500, it was decided that if ditka was driving the team bus, da bears would win the indy 500. It was funny only because they were so foolish in their fanaticism. This thread is the same stuff, only substituting the SEC for da bears. Three questions, do you guys really believe this crap, why, and what difference does it make? Do you really feel that if the football conference where you happen to live is better than another conference, that makes you better? Get a life. The SEC is the best, always has been, no one can ever beat them and never will, the only good players ever came from there, every player from a different conference sucks, and anything that says otherwise is only because all the stats are forged and the games are fixed in favor of USC. Riiiiiggggghhhhttttt. All the sports experts over the last 50 years or so are biased in favor of the PAC-10 and just made up all the rankings and stats that shows the SEC as not being the powerhouse your wishful thinking suggests it to be. Time for the extra strength tin foil. |
Close.;)

How's my tin foil lookin" boys? Currently 28-7 LSU. Like I said, bring on the guys in the skirts, named after the condoms. |
Mule, shouldn't you be watching some powerhouse struggle on tv? who are your boys playing today, someother overrated group? Looks like they will have to wait to play USC to get a game. and a whuppin.
|
I am, #2 vs #12. Just too much power in the Tigers' house. We will have to wait to play USC & we'll still be waitin' for the whuppin!
Hope your boys fare OK against those monsters from WA State. |
If you could plug South Carolina into the USC schedule, it would be considered the biggest test of the season for the Trojan men.
