Blackberry Desktop and Outlook 2007

Guys,
I just upgraded my computer to one running Windows Vista Business and MS Office 2007. On my old platform (XP Pro and Office 2003) I was able to SYNC my Blackberry 8300 (Curve) with no problems.

Now, Outlook does not show up as one of the options for SYNC. FYI, I’m running the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manger (vers. 4.2.2.14 SP2).
I’ve tried ATT and Microsoft with no working solutions.

Ideas (apart from getting an IPhone :D ).

I just got into BB lst week (ATT and a Curve )and I have 2007 Office / XP Pro -

It gave me options to synchronize when I set up the desktop - including address, notes and contacts.

Yours doesn't?

Randy, with XP it used to work with Vista I'm stuck. Been on hold with ATT for over 30 minutes now....

Sorry about that. BB support might have something...

After many hours on the phone and chat with ATT I got transferred to RIM. After many hours with them IT WORKS!

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Uninstall Desktop Manager
2. Remove any references on your registry and on your C drive program files and users to:
a. Blackberry
b. Pumatech
c. Research in Motion
d. RIM
e. Desktop Manager
3. Disable the UAC (User Accounts) on Control Panel-Users
4. Get a command prompt and type regsvr32 atl.dll (enter)
5. Reboot
6. Make sure that when you re-install you have absolutely no SpyBot, Virus, Spam guard or the like running.
7. Reinstall Desktop Manager (version 4.2 SP2)
8. If you get an “Error 1904….Lotus Notes…” Ignore it
9. After you do all this, it should work

Thanks much to John over at RIM !!!! SmileWavy

And just how is the average Joe supposed to figure that out?

At least you got John and not Ja'far-Saadiq which could have made that totally incomprehensible.

I had him yesterday from Microsoft trying to solve the same problem... I opted for a chat as I could understand his writing...
