How do I help a friend who needs money?
Looking for some ideas here.
A good friend of mine who is in his 50's just recently got burned on a bad business deal, and lost his entire life savings (including retirement). He is basically broke and will probably have to file bankruptcy. Yeah, he's not the brightest guy in the world to let this happen, but I would like to do something to help him get back on his feet. Are there any creative ways (fundraisers?) that I can use to raise money for someone who is a charity case? I'm willing to do the legwork, and I can enlist friends to help out as well. I'm basically looking for a way to raise more money than I could get by just asking friends for donations. Thanks |

What are you raising money for? Does he work, have a place to live, family? If he files BK, he still can have a home and basic possessions.
If he is not working, then helping him find a job is probably the best thing to do. If working, but no place to live, then maybe helping with a rental deposit would be best. Not to sound insensitive, but I don't think there is going to be alot of charity for the bad business deals.
