Any body know how to run a licence plate
 

I have a picture of a car from a car show but all I have is the plate number to try to find out who owns it. Its a ca. plate. I use to have a friend in law enforcement that could run plates for me but now he has to fill out a report for any plate he runs and justify it. Any other ways to get an ID on this? I just want to find out if the car is for sale.

check the state DMV online.

NY DMV allows the search. Don't know about Calif.

I checked and it appears that ca. does not allow for that kind of search.

See if you can track hte owner down via the car show... he had to have registered, etc.....
