I was expecting a V-8 SUV when I opened this. Rain here sort of slowed down our forest fire/

It was pretty impressive as it rolled in. Reminded me of what it looks like just before a tornado hits.

Its been very dry here in jersey too. Our reservoirs in the north are down 20-25 feet.

Here on the Gulf Coast of East Texas, we are finally out of the drought. The north central part of the state is still pretty bad. Nothing compared to California though.

That was nuts. I was headed west on the 101 and the sky got emerald green and then it really opened up. I was six miles from home and was starting to get worried about making it. So many downed trees and hard to see any more than 10' ahead. Wow. Poor guy on the motorcycle in front of me. I wonder where he pulled off.

Our backyard was about 6" deep in places. I dug some shallow trenches to get it to drain. Our neighbor seems to have addressed this issue already. And here I thought his river was just for looks.

Just got Century Link back up and online now...went out last night @ 6 PM.
Also, all power out for thousands of customers for abut 6 hrs.
Got to fire up my generator which is always fun...sorta.
.
Rained so hard that my pool water got close to the edge...and with no power I couldn't put the pump on "Waste" to drop the level.
.
I'm weird, I guess...I'd rather be out the use of a refridgerator than my internet.

About 20 minutes-worth of rain here in SoCal, in the LA Foothills area. Not enough to help much, I fear, but it was nice while it lasted.

Just so we all know the Lingo:

In the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean east of the International Dateline, a tropical storm with winds exceeding 75 mph is a hurricane. West of the International Dateline, it is a typhoon, and in the Indian Ocean, it is called a cyclone.

You guys up in Phoenix have gotten a light "dusting" of rain compared to those of us down in Southeast part of the state. Not complaining since rain in the desert = a good thing, but HOLY CRAP we've gotten a ton of rain this year!

Have to disagree with ya there, pard.

Allergies are going to SUCK thanks to all the non-native crap people have been bringing in over the past ~20 years.

I read about this years and years ago...prior to ever thinking about living in AZ.
The 'snow birds' come down here to get away from what caused them issues back from where they came, and yet they recreate what they had at home and plant trees and shrubs with which they are familiar and comfortable, and that are not native to this area.
With that, they continue to suffer. One wonders why.
