Hay Wayne, found yer bug

It only happens if you're looking at a thread and select "Post New Topic":

Then it does a switcheroo to 911 technical:

I generally charge $225/hr for IT consulting, sometimes I even get $750/hr from On-ramp. ;)

You can pay me in gift certificates.

Where's the "Dear Penthouse Letters" thread?

notfarnow 09-28-2007 06:20 PM

It almost went to technical, before I came to my senses

Yeah, I just went checking, looks like forumid=8 is hard coded, no matter what forum you are in, the button has forumid=8.

Good work Jake.

Wow, nice work there, iColumbo!

Good warmup, now on to the search forum feature.

notfarnow 09-28-2007 08:55 PM

My gripe with the "search" function is that it has a three-character minimum. That is usually enough for most forums, but it can make searching for specific engine info a real pain.

I noticed it when searching for 3.2 valve guide stuff, but it applies to any search by engine displacement.

Maybe you can deduce why, when looking at the random photos thread (or others with a lot of pages) the page numbers links going backwards will go 799, 798, 797, 796, 795, 777, 776 or somethign like that. There's a strange skip that happens midway through.

I reported this about a day after we switched software...

Rammstein,

The pages shown are the first few before the one you're on, then the 10th one back, so if you're skipping a few, you can do it in 'jumps' of ten.
