Counter weighting the Evil of this world

With a little private contribution. Early summer morning at 'my' beach in southern Sweden. Much could be said about the climate in Scandinavia but a good Swedish summer can not be beat.

Very nice. One of those "life is good" moments.

They are not all 100% evil. Some are a mere 50%.

I think you appreciate a really fine summer or spring day if your winters are cold and frigid, though I can't say for sure, because my mother got sick of Nebraska winters and went to California to raise a family.

I am sometimes seriously questioning why the northern parts of the globe is at all inhabited. The poor smucks that got lost wondering around 15000 years ago - why did they stay ? Why not, as the birds, head south ? It is by all standards a much harsher living up north as opposed to Spain or California.

It must take a toll on the general personality type and social patterns in the long run, living where it is cold, dark and hostile as opposed to warm and sunny.

Up in the northern parts of Sweden it is much worse of course. Not to speak of the loneliness of few people living on a vast area.

An old reindeer farmer was once asked if he preferred wanking or fukking.

-"Fukking I suppose. You meet people.."

Women are evil, men are stupid.

Right, forgot, stupid man, you know I can prove that women are evil mathematically.

The female gender of any species is in possession of one tiny little resource that most specimens of the male gender have a biologically unavoidable need for and hence is irresistibly attracted too. It is called an egg and the cunning advertise for it is sex.

As it goes, and has evolved over the eons, the female gender has prove very successful using that resource to itīs advantage.

If I believed in God, I would almost have thought he created it so for his own amusement - watching us men crawl and kiss ass, generally looking pretty stupid.

You mean this one? All true.

Say man, Elvis is The King

Yeah Jeff, that's the one

Markus, I do believe in God and have often thought He has quite a sense of humor about a lot of things, a platypus for example, or you meet some woman who by all appearances is perfect, but turns out to be a bit insane, and you still get this perfect little child out of it.

They call it Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD, go figure), but you already knew that

livi 09-29-2007 04:45 PM

Excellent point, Tobra. Funny how things turn out.

slodave 09-29-2007 04:46 PM

Where are the waves, fluffer?

Jims5543 09-29-2007 04:54 PM

Not exactly my beach, as I do not live on the beach, but these are pics from the beach we go to. Its technically our beach because we have been going to this spot for 10+ years now.

If I did not have the beach 10 minutes away from me I think I would loose my mind.

Markus, I am with you 100%, we recently purchased a vacation home in the mountains and toyed with moving there. After 1 winter just visiting and feeling 20 degree mornings I knew deep in my heart Florida is the place where I belong. To each his own but to me, cold sucks and you can keep it. I prefer the warmer climate of Florida.

Livi,

I lived for six months in Roskilde, Soburg and Herlev Denmark back in 1999. Loved it there and spent the summer and fall enjoying that part of the world.

Enjoy it while you can, you know that the grey days of summer are not far away! I do have some aquivit in the freezer if you are in this part of the world!

Joe

Some really good pics in this thread. I like beach/water photos. Something about it that makes me calm. A serenity if you like. I grew up on the beach and the few short periods I have lived away - even just 5 miles - was unhappy. I need it. Ideally so close I can hear the slow waves rolling in with a soothing monothony on a still summer morning. That is heaven and Nirvana rolled into one.

Dave, we only get big fluffy waves when it is real windy. ;)

Joe, Iīll let you know when it is time to fetch that bottle from the freezer.

And how is it that my Spell Check button resists me? It is in order on the computers at work, but not here at home. Isnīt that peculiar??
