I'm enjoying watching Notre Dame about to go 0-5.

Not even half time but they're down 23...I love it. I think this will be the 1st 0-5 start in the school's history. Ha ha. Go Illini.
Christian.

Notre Dame is one of the teams people love to hate...a long winning tradition makes you happy to see them have a losing season...Their fans must be in agony, however.

It's too bad because I've always admired Charlie Weiss.

When they were 0-3, I thought I heard that was already the worst start in the football team's history.

It won't bother them much, they have fair weather fans with no connection to the school

Hell yea! Our Boilers spanked em down to 0-5 :)

Ok, so I'm a proud Purdue Alum but it was the first time my wife and I took our daughter tailgating. I was keeping my fingers crossed that we would beat them, but there was a little concern since everyone we have played so far aren't exactly the best teams in the conference.

As a side note, was there a Pelican with a black Carrera 4 parked in the tailgate lot by the airport? If so, nice wax job!! We were a row over, but I didn't get a chance to catch the owner.

Shame they're still on TV every week.

This, I agree with. The only team to have guaranteed TV coverage every weekend...win or lose.

ND is not the draw for big recruits like it used to be back when it was a football power. They have not had great teams since Holtz was there... If you have ever been to their campus, or visited the surrounding areas, you will see that there isnt much of a draw in those respects either. Too many options for the top, speedy kids these days, SEC, Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, ACC is getting much better etc. ND as the last 'big' independent has really lost some luster, and it is not clear if one coach is going to be able to bring that back.
Willingham got a raw deal, and now they see that the problems there are much deeper than the coach.

Everyone always raves about how great Weiss is, but what has he done? It seems that some people think that anyone with NFL experience is automatically a great college coach. Tell that to Notre Dame and Nebraska fans.

In the meantime, I bet many ND fans are regretting running Willingham out of town, he's doing quite well at Washington.
