Going to Knoxville in a couple of weeks
I'm going to be in Knoxville on business for 5 days in October, never been there or anywhere near there. I promise I won't mess the place up
![]() Anything fun to do there? I won't have much free time during the day (hanging out at computational systems Incorporated, vibration analysis egghead stuff) but I'll probably have the evenings free. I figure my recreation will be limited to dinner and maybe a few drinks, unless there is a must-see place. |

If you are there during the weekend and the Vols are playing there is plenty to do or at least there was last time I went up there. Actually if you like the outdoors and what not it is very nice. I may make the trip on the 6th myself.

The strip has a bunch of college bars. Michael's on Kingston Pike used to be pretty good and has a good steak as well. Sassy Ann's in 4th & Gill is pretty cool. The old city has some OK places as well.
I've attended exactly 1 UT game. Your ticket gets you 17" on a painfull aluminum bleacher. Unless you enjoy being pressed against people you don't know or are very narrowly built, I wouldn't recommend it.

The best gay bar is the Rainbow Club. (I have this on very good authority.) Your concierge will help you find it.
You're there on business. No one knows you. Might be the perfect opportunity to decide whether to finally come out of the closet. I mean that in a kind and caring way and look forward to a full report.

Sorry Sammy I forgot the most important part: Just ask the bartender for an "extra-creamy-double-vodka-mango-tini". Those are the magic words that will get you on the inside track.
