Clear coat on a helmet

Hey Guys,

I've decided to take my old helmet to Rennsport III for autographs. I'll have sharpies to do the signatures, but I would like to use a Krylon clear over the whole thing when I get back to protect it. I'm pretty sure the chemicals in an automotive clear would dissolve the marker, will a can spray to the same thing?? Sure would hate to ruin it as soon as I get home.

Go to an art supply store and buy some Crystal Clear. Fairly benign stuff.

Use a perm or laundry marker.

As always test in an inconspicuous location.

Like 'monkey suggests, test a small patch at home with pen and clear before you go to Daytona.

What about a paint pen?

They can chip and flake on a smooth surface. They prefer it rough:eek:

But certainly worth a try.
