My cat passed away tonight.

I didn't think I would take it so hard, but I really miss my little friend. He passed away tonight, sleeping on our bed as he always does. His name was Pugsley and he was a 14 year old Persian cat. R.I.P. Pugsley!

Here he is a few months ago sleeping as usual:

Sad. I always think about how I'll react when my "little buddy" goes to the big cat condo in the sky. She's only 4, so I know we have some time together, but I still think about the end.

Prayers to you, Mr. Pugsley... http://images.corvetteforum.com/imag.../angelsad2.gif

It's always hard when the time comes. It's very rare that they go peacefully while sleeping. I've been through the loss a few times now and it's always hard and you never really recover, but you always remember the good times.

I'm so sorry Scott. Losing a family member like your beloved Pugsley is always so heart-wrenching. I'm glad he was at home on his bed when he went peacefully.

Remember the good times and allow yourself to grieve.

I still miss my first cat from childhood. "Link"

I remember all of my cats.

It makes me sad and I know what you are feeling.
Yes, remember the fun you had and the good care you gave him.

Terribly sorry to hear of your loss Scott.

Joeaksa 10-09-2007 09:33 PM

Sorry to hear it. My cat is part of the family and it will be a big loss when she heads West.

masraum 10-09-2007 09:44 PM

I feel for you. I lost a friend earlier this summer. It almost makes me want to not have anything to get attached to, but I've already got another dog and she's great.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss Scott, my eldest is 21, and still going.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1191991533.jpg

So sorry Scott, I'll tell Rachel when I get home. (yep, still at work. :( )

I'll buy the beer if I can make it out tomorrow.

Dang, Scott; that's really a shame. I'm sorry for your loss. It's always tough to lose a little buddy like that. Hang in there; we are all thinking about you.

island911 10-09-2007 10:10 PM

Oh man... was he showing any signs? You know Rebecca would have help you out.

DARISC 10-09-2007 10:10 PM

My deepest sympathy Scott.

My take on cats is that they are primarily wild animals who choose to live with you if you treat them well.

They are so, so different than dogs (and I love dogs as well) in that they don't NEED you.

My condolences and may you carry forever with you the gift that this wonderful animal bestowed upon you.

Sleep well, knowing that, while "loyalty" does not apply to felines as it does to canines, you obviously loved and treated Pugsley well and, for that, you were blessed with with his company.

Rearden 10-09-2007 10:23 PM

As a cat guy myself, I feel your pain :-(

RIP: Blackie and JR. And Pugsley.

Scott,
My condolances. I had mine put away on June 12th at a little over 20 years old. She was an independent, nasty, self-centered thing - but I loved her dearly. I'd had her since she was small enough to set in my hand. Don't think I'll be getting another pet for awhile.
Best to you.

Sorry to hear that Scott...I like Persian cats, they are usually very intelligent.

My oldest is 15 and he acts like a kitten still, very playful...the other is 12 and she is a diabetic, I worry about her sometimes but she is doing OK.

Sorry for your loss...

jeffgrant 10-10-2007 01:43 AM

Hey Scott... sorry to hear it. I've got a 19 year old cat (with only one tooth left) myself, and count myself lucky for each "extra" day she has. All the best to you and Lori.

livi 10-10-2007 03:55 AM

Sorry to hear that, Scott. Now joined itīs mates in the Great Hunting grounds.

Byron, is your cat possibly having right eye glaucoma ??

rouxroux 10-10-2007 04:11 AM
