Canadian Brewer (Coors) merges with South African brewer (Miller)
Is Anheuser-Busch still an American company?
I'll stick with Budweiser. |

Very confused.
This thread seems to suggest that products made by Budweiser, Coors and Miller are beer. I always assumed they were some kind of second rate cleaning product that just happend to come in beer cans. Certainly there aren't people out there that drink the stuff....I mean....MY GOD. With all the amazing local and regional brewers out there, why would one drink that swill? I'm enjoying a Hales Pale Ale as I type. Brewed about 4 miles from my house. http://www.halesales.com/

I find it funny that here in Milwaukee many folks are up in arms about this merger but when the S.African co. got Miller you heard very little. On the news last night Miller said nothing would change as far as employees go (we'll see)

Back here, SA Breweries make (can't call it brew) the same $hit, called Castle Lager.
OTOH, worldwide sales for the group is something like $6 billion. That's an awful lot of generally awful beer.

Was hanging with a German buddy over the weekend. He is german born and raised and only a recent transplant.
I see the same thing with him as I see with my friends from DE that come over to visit. They drink Rolling Rock, Bud and Corona.
