and maybe you are not that way, I have no idea. But I can tell you, I'd personally for a Democrat if they were for less gov't, less regulation and less taxation. I don't care about party.

I respect your views, but you clearly have formed (in my view) some 'black and white' generalizations about those you don't agree with, it probably makes it easier to dismiss them as being 'uninformed', notice what you said about global warmings detracters...

Arrogant (from the dictionary)

1. Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.
2. Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others: an arrogant contempt for the weak.

Holy cow! That's how I came across?! Am I being arrogant by giving the "wrong" answer to a question you asked?

Generalized black & white statements? Which ones are they?

Think things through too well? (as opposed to not thinking them through well enough?).

Did you miss all my "maybe's" and ?marks?

Wow....:o

Don't apologize...I think DARISC has been arrogant as well.

Edit: I have been as well, but I'll admit it.

Being old and possibly a "dinosaur" is quite useful. Age imparts a certain wisdom. That wisdom says that all the diversity talk is just plain crap and those doing the talking know little to nothing about anything. Diversity usually causes only one thing, conflict. How is conflict beneficial to anyone trying to get along? The answer, it isn't.

I will clarify this a bit. The world is diverse, that can be a good thing. Culture can be diverse, and this may or may not be good. One thing for certain, in a given country, Cultural diversity is simply bad, very very bad. For a country to survive, progress, succeed requires everyone to be on the same basic track. Without cultural coherence a country, any country will fall apart, no it will tear it self apart until one and only one culture is dominate. That can be clearly demonstrated by simply reading a bunch of history books. But wait, liberals, and so called multiculturalists want to rewrite history to their liking, and not what is fact. Why? because their supposed superior intellect they know best, so it must be true. The arrogance is astounding.

Liberals in America today are totally out to lunch. Their hate for GW Bush has turned them into TRAITORS, willing to do whatever it takes to bring down GW, even if it means our country goes down with him. Global warming is just another hook they are trying to use to get at GW. My question is WTF will they do if they get back in charge? They will have poisoned all the good options with their sheer hate for GW leaving us with what? Total disaster.

I am a scientist (nuclear physics) with advanced degrees as well as an engineer (MSEE) with over 30 years experience. Al Gore is a disaster whore monger who knows NOTHING about what he is talking about, period. Global warming may be real, but the consequences are not. There are engineering solutions that can take care of global warming if and when it becomes a problem and at this point global warming cannot be stated as a PROBLEM. Global warming may be one of the most beneficial events in world history. Depends on your point of view. That being, the world is starving and more will starve if you do not let the intelligentsia manage everything. The other being, lets analyze this as it develops, and in the meantime work on the tools to manage it if need be, but let people alone, to be free, not managed by idiots who think they are Gods.

For one thing he managed to use even more energy last year:

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month
Gore’s personal electricity consumption up 10%, despite “energy-efficient” home renovations

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month –1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations – at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.

“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, a Nashville-based free market think tank and watchdog organization, obtained information about Gore’s home energy use through a public records request to the Nashville Electric Service.

Yes they are spending money on alternative energy sources, and no they aren't building any new refineries because the freaking tree-hugging bleeding heart liberals and their immoral lawyers won't let them.
