psychedelic folk music

A little something my big sis put out. I am too close to be objective. Give it a listen and give me your thoughts.

Does sound "60's peroid" like, but in a good way. Short on funds now or I'd might buy a CD.

A folk singer friend of mine pasted away last month from a heart attack. Enjoy the music while it's here, life is all to short.

different strokes for different folks
sounds ok, in the sense that they are complete songs
but it's not my cup of tea, i'de go bonkers if this played while going psychedelic
i prefer Jimmi H or old school Santana for such purposes

Interesting, I have no experience with psychedelics, but assumed it'd sound better with em.

mwah, it's personal taste as well
but generally , while psychedelic, different things might be liked then when one is not psychedelic, although not necessarely
it's all very unpredictable stuff

natural things tend to go down well(especially on shrooms and also with acid, altough the latter sometimes might come on a wee bit to strong and then no matter what music, it's gonna be weird , bongo music, indian nature crapola, buddhist chanting, whale sounds, whatever floats your boat..

essentially , going truly psychedelic, is so overwhelming to the senses ,that the surroundings at that point are of lesser importance then the surroundings as you were working up to it

eg, if you play something that doesn't set your mind in the right direction , before you go in
then chances are , you'll have a bad trip, even if you play the right music at the peak of the trip

playing gangsta rap is probably a bad way to prepare for psychedelics

this type of music, is not really threatening, those who like it probably find it calming , so in a way yes, i can see it work for some while prepping to go psychedelic

i've just always been more into Jimmy H , very captivating

it's very personal really, i can imagine that somebody who hates electric feedback on guitars, would actually hate jimmy h, and launch into a bad trip with freak out scary synesthesia from it...(senses switching function, hearing colors, hard to explain, but i found it quite a blast when that happened)

wether or not some music becomes better on psychedelics , is just to impossible to predict
fan's of music, might hate it during a trip ( and even end up hating it for life)
some who don't like something, might get turned on by the same music they don't like sober
somebody who tripped well on something one time, might even hate the same stuff second time around
varying doses, levels of tripping, external influence of the enviroment, it all blends within a heavy trip, and the outcome could swing either way...
it's like a box of choclats, you never know what you gonna ge-et

A little too folk and not enough psychedelic for my tastes, but certainly is something that will have a following in the acoustic folk circles.

psychedelic folk hardly ever is psychedelic in the sense that it's chock full of sound effects...it's really a contradiction in terms as it's more about the atmosphere it aims to create rather then an attempt to sound psychedelic...

I was ready to hear something just terrible, and that was not terrible.

Not my kind of music, but the songs are well produced.

Only negatives:

1) She trys to do things with her voice that it just won't do. She can sing, but she needs to pick her battles. And drop the 'chorus' effects. She can channel Emmylou Harris.

2) It sounds like she is using a drum machine for back up, and that makes it kind of sterile.
