Any Suggestions re my next SUV....

I have an 05 Mercedes ML350 that is coming off lease in around 3 months so I am starting to look around for a replacement. This was my second ML so I am not sure if I want another ML. Maybe if the price was right but there does not seem to be any lease promos for the ML at the moment. I am considering the Cayenne. Can anyone provide details on their experience with a Cayenne - good or bad....

Try the new ML 320 CDI.

We bought one after trying everything else out there and think its brilliant. The engine has huge amounts of torque - more than the ML 500 - but is still very frugal. And the new cars are rock solid - in contrast to the older model.

In fact I think its the best all around car I've ever owned.

Touareg or Cayenne, IMO. These are the only SUVs I would personally be in the market for . . . As a BMW owner, I like the X5 too, but have never driven one.

I've driven the non-S Cayenne and was amazed at the handling and power from the V6.

Hopefully some Cayenne owners will add their comments, as they will probably speak highly of the machine as well, and with more detail.

Best,

Kurt

Any of those Fords with the King Ranch leather. That's nice stuff!

I drove a Cayenne on a test drive. The carmax sales guy was a car enthusiat and let me take it on the 'long loop'. It was fun. Very heavy, and not quick (didn't est fast) but great brakes. Brakes are important to me in stop and go traffic driving a big car. My wife's Pacifica has horrible brakes (and handling). I'm spoiled. I will trade and trade it next year for an X5 or an XC90. Cayenne is too expensive for an SUV, IMHO. I don't think it's that big, but never really measured it.
