Blanco Out

Hopefully this young fellow can reform Louisiana. I realize that's a big task, but everyone said it was impossible to reform New York until Guiliani too...

One can only hope!

Good for Bobby Jindal! I was impressed with him the last time he ran. I guess people in Louisiana aren't as racist as one would be lead to believe. 53% of the vote and he's of Indian (India) origin.

What's even better is that some of the "good old boys" have been voted out of the legislature. Also, The Attorney General and the AG commissioner are in for the battle of their lives in the runoffs. Finally, I think we're going in the right direction.
To see why Louisiana has been the butt of so many jokes, here's a link to see what the libs and populists have done to this state. Of course I'm not proud of this "misery index", but showing the truth exposes the truth. And "Sister Katrina Mary" should be quaking in her shoes, because our Treasurer (john Kennedy) is going to blow her out of the water in the next election. Here's the link:

The state's primary system is unique: The preliminary round of voting includes candidates from all parties, and the top two vote-getters, regardless of party, advance, provided none makes it past 50%.

The process, according to political watchers in the state, means voters form fewer allegiances to parties and more connections to individual candidates. "It's degraded the party connection that you see in other states," said the Democratic operative. That means candidates cannot rely on a base vote, like they would in other states. "What you see is that voters are really voting personality and voting the people," the independent professional said.
Hmmm....I don't see "voters form[ing] fewer allegiances to parties" as a bad thing. Maybe this format could be exported to other states? God knows Illinois is corrupt to the core, and much of that core comes from Chicago...

Isn't this guy a Republican? How the heck did that happen?

Would be nice to see a change in Chocolate Town, too...

Wickd89 10-21-2007 08:33 PM

The Noggin campaigned more in Houston than in NO. It had been arranged to allow out of town refugees to vote in the NO election. That may be a little harder next time. I heard one imbecile say he would make a good governor. How scary is that?

Would Nagin really be any worse than Blanco?

He's way more valuable to the Democrats as a United States Congressman than he would be as a mayor. He will take William Jefferson's seat whenever the Democrats figure out how to force him out.

Do you mean when he goes to jail?
