gilligan's island

ok, one of the threads this morning got me thinking, "oh, we should just shoot him" and for some reason that made a Gilligan's Island episode pop into my head.

Remember the one where the famous hunter comes to the island wanting to hunt a human? When you think about it, kind of an edgy episode, especially for that time period.

So....any other particular favorite GI episodes?

And Ginger v. MaryAnne discussion will result in banning.

I always wanted to kill Gilligan.

Idiot broke the radio transmitter in the first episode.

2 that come to mind are when the radioactive vegetable seeds wash up on the island. The other is when the surfer rides the tsunami to the island.

Wasnt there one with Kurt Russel as a monkey boy or something?

Just sit right back & you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave & sure.
Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour,
A three hour tour

The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Minnow would be lost,
The Minnow would be lost.

The ship's a-ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan,
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star
The Professor and Mary Ann

Here on Gilligan's Isle.

Nostatic, no offense, but when we were having a beer last week in Santa Monica, I couldn't stop thinking that you looked a tad bit like Bob Denver. Had you worn the red shirt, white pants and hat, that would have been it. I think I may look like Alan Hale in about 15 yrs.

You realize this is an impossibility don't you.

And for the record, I so wanted to bang MaryAnne.

Dude- MaryAnn was SO hot. And she wasn't even trying.

Ginger had to get all done up to be even remotely attractive.

Maryann was really, really hot. I bet some of my first, confusing boners happened because of her.

And with Maryann, you might have a chance. She was a nice chick, and innocent, and you wouldn't have to be a millionaire to impress her. I would have impressed her by helping the professor with the coconut radio, and I would have given her a back rub to help her ease away the tension that Gilligan brought to the island.

Wow that's a flashback...Rory Calhoun was the Hunter, and I seem to recall that Oddjob from Goldfinger was his assistant/toady/enforcer.

I remember an episode where Gilligan had a slave girl that was also a bit...out there.

Here's a pic of "Mary Ann" and "Gilligan" a few years ago. No more Mary Ann boner for me. :(

Bob Denver lived in my hometown. I used to see him walking down the street stoned out of his mind. Pretty funny, actually.

I liked the episodes big spider or the headhunters and then there was the volcano one and also when they would go to the haunted castle and Gilligan's brain was swapped with the Professors I think. I think the island was Malta which never seemed to make sense because Malta is off the coast of Italy (right?) and they were in the South Pacific.

Then again, here I'm trying to make sense of a show that was a complete farce anyway.

For what its worth, MaryAnne would be my pick. Farm girls have it way over celebs - plus Ginger prolly had herpes or something.

MaryAnne for me too.

Ginger was a whore

We bought the DVDs of Gilligan's Island for our daughter. Amazing how timeless good, clean humor is.

When she gets home from school, Ill ask her what her favorits are. She has most of them memorized. You don't want to play Gilligan trivia with her.

trekkor 11-01-2007 07:56 AM

It seems we have no problem admitting that we spent so much time watching that show, then?

The "Skipper" was a rage-o-holic, huh?

Ya, but how can you blame him. Instead of hitting Gilligan with his hat, he should have choked the shyt out of him!

Anytime someone would do something stupid growing up we would call him Gilligan for a few days. That was one of the worst insults!

It has been joyful for me to notice that both my daughters greatly prefer good, wholesome, classic TV shows over the new crap.

I think of the episode where they think the island is sinking. At the end of the show, they learn that the Professor's measuring stick in the lagoon was also being used by Gilligan, who was gradually moving the stick into deeper water to catch bigger lobsters.

Nostril Cheese 11-01-2007 08:05 AM

The Skipper and Gilligan were gay lovers. Of course Gilligan was his b*itch.
